    I am an 18 year old coach who hasrecently completed my level 1

    qualification. In the future, I hope tocomplete my masters coach

    qualification for coaching children inthe sport of football and become a

    full-time coach.

    The first thing I will need to do to make sure I am fullyqualified is to join Sports Coach UK by registering fora full membership, which will cost 85 a year which

    can help me with my qualifications and get me thebest training available. This membership includesnetwork and standard memberships, as well as

    Protection with specialist insurance and legal

    advice. This insurance package has been carefullydeveloped to give you the protection you need andincludes a number of new enhancements to thecover. You can also download the complete policy to

    fully understand the membership.

    During Stage 2, I would get a CRB (CriminalRecord Bureau) check to make sure I am

    able to work with children. I would get aform from the company. This is requiredbefore I go further in my qualifications.

    For this next step, I will need to get some first aidtraining in case someone gets injured. The FirstAid for Sport CPD for Coaches course would fitthis requirement. The award for this course is anEmergency First Aid in the Workplace Certificate(which is valid for 3 years).

    You can learn about the roles and responsibilities offirst aiders, and how to deal with limb injuries, and

    spine injuries.It teaches the initial assessment of a casualty,treatment for Unconsciousness, bleeding, chokingand performing CPR (cardio-pulmonaryresuscitation).

    For this stage, I will access a copy of theCode of Conduct for coaches, which is

    the points to help understand the coachingrole fully. This ranges from key principles, toImplementation Issues (minimal isolation,behaviour etc.).

    Next, I would pick a workshop which suitsme. The Coaching Children And Young

    People workshop is the best bet because itis a workshop made to help coaches whocoach young people, like I am.

    The workshop teaches everything you needto know about childrens physical growth,

    social and emotional development and earlyskill learning.

    For this stage, I will go to the next level for mycoaching, the 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate inCoaching Football (QCF), which is for anyone overthe age of 16 and is for anyone who would like todevelop and improve their football coaching skills. It isused as part of the requirements for amateur footballclubs and schools to achieve the appropriate FACharter Standard accreditation.

    Requirements would be; a minimum emergency firstaid certificate, attended the FA workshopSafeguarding Children in Football, which I havedone in the previous stage.
