TRIBUTE TO A LEGENDDRAWINGS : MIXED MEDIA - PRISMA PENCIL, WATERCOLOR01

This piece is a tribute to one of the most influential people in recent Manchester United history. His 26 year tenure at Manchester United saw the club win 36 trophies, including 13 Premier League titles as well as 2 UEFA Champions League titles.

This 12”x12” drawing was created using prisma pencils, micron lettering which details all of Sir Alex Ferguson’s accomplishments throughout his illustrious career, and all overlaid with watercolor to create some softness and balance in the piece.

MADIBADRAWINGS : MIXED MEDIA - PRISMA PENCIL, OIL PAINT PEN02

This piece is a tribute to one of the men that I admire most, Nelson Mandela. There are few people in the world who leave this earth in better shape than he found it and one of those people is this man. His struggle, courage and unwavering belief in the goodness of people was truly inspiring. It was created shortly after his passing.

This 10”x10” portrait was drawn using grayscale prisma pencils and the background was written using an oil based paint pen on a black mat board. In the background, I chose 5 quotes that I felt best demonstrated his compassion as well as his influence on society as a whole.

EL MAESTRO ZIZOUPAINTINGS : ACRYLIC, OIL PAINT PEN03

Zinedine Zidane is a former French football player who played for some of the world’s top clubs including Juventus in Italy and Real Madrid in Spain. He is one of the greatest footballers to ever live and is often the source of inspiration for my work. His dedication and passion for the sport, as well as his gracefulness and skill on the ball, made him an easy choice for my favorite footballer in history.

This 24”x24” portrait completed using acrylic paint on canvas. The background is comprised of four quotes by Zidane in English and French and were written using an oil paint pen.

ZIDANECERAMICS : CERAMIC TILE, LASER CUTTER04

This piece was created using the 8”x8” clay tiles that I made. The process to create this combined analog and digital art. The tiles were put through a bisque firing in the kiln before layering two coats of underglaze: first white, then black. The tiles were then placed in a laser cutter, which etched the digital graphic that I created onto the tiles. The variation in thickness of the layers of underglaze caused the uneven etching of the image, which created a more dynamic look for the piece. The tiles were then mounted on a plywood board using plaster.

PRODUCT DESIGN : DRAFTING TABLECERAMICS : CERAMIC TILE, LASER CUTTER05

This table was mass modeled in SKETCHUP and thentaken into AutoCAD to create the cut sheet. Materials for this table are: baltic birch 1” plywood, 1/4” plexiglass sheets, and steel nuts and bots for the joints. The boarder of the table was created by cutting 1-1/2” strips of plywood and glulaming them together and connecting the frame at the corners using a butt joint. The right side of the table where the plexi glass is located serves as a light table.

The tabletop is angled slightly to create a more comfortable surface to work on. This table was created using various tools in the Texas Tech University wood shop.
