Project Title: Bote Mo, Buhay Ko
Problem Statement: The residents are not knowledgeable and prepared enough of what they’re supposed to do in times of unexpected typhoons and floods. There are also lack of materials and resources that had happened which led to a big number of casualties.
Community Needs: There is a need of additional resources and additional information on disaster management among the residents of the community.
Objectives: *To raise the preparedness of the residents in the community, whenever there are unexpected typhoons which are mainly the cause of flash floods.*To lessen the garbage in the community, particularly plastic bottles which can be seen anywhere.
INTRODUCTION
Solution Statement: *Collecting Plastic Bottles to lessen the waste around the community*Recycling the Plastic Bottles into Boats and Life Vests which will be given to the Barangay Officials, for them to have resources in times of disasters, particularly flash floods*Distribution of Emergency Kits to over 100 households of the community which are prone to disasters like flash floods
Output: Gather 300 bottles in every 12 volunteers to make one boat and two life jackets
Outcome:Enough resources for the residents to use in case of flashfloods and other calamities that may happen. Preparedness of the residents raised.Less Plastic Bottles seen anywhere
Learned from:Dr. Kendall Thu’s lecture on Conservation, Sustainability, Food and the Environment
Specifically about? The 3Rs of Conservation and Sustainability
How applied in your project? There are things which are important than just doing the 3Rs alone and that is how the project would be sustainable after doing all the 3Rs.
How innovative is your project?Lets people see how their waste, which they think are useless, can greatly contribute on saving lives of individuals at risk.

BUDGET
To ensure the sustainability of this project, there will be a follow on every two months on how the residents and barangay officials are doing since rainy season is getting near. Recycling Plastic Bottles will also be a permanent project of Zone 3 Youth Organization, and will not only help the people in one community but will also help the communities all over Cagayan de Oro City experiencing flash floods every time a typhoon hits their place.
How do you ensure sustainability?
