EUROPEAN CREDIT MOVES CREDIT: BANK Adekunle Ademakinwa has leſt Nomura, where he was Head of Credit Debt Syndicate – EMEA, to return to Deutsche Bank where he will work for Frazer Ross. Ross was appointed as Head of European Flow Syndicate at the bank, adding responsibility for the SSA syndicate business to his existing responsibilities for the corporate, financials, emerging markets and EMTNs syndicate. Fabien Antignac was re-hired by Credit Suisse as Head of EU Capital Markets, based in Madrid. Dominik Boskamp has joined Credit Agricole in Frankfurt as ED & Head of Corporate DCM for Germany & Austria. Adekunle Ademakinwa has left Nomura, where he was Head of Credit Debt Syndicate – EMEA, to return to Deutsche Bank where he will work for Frazer Ross. NatWest Markets has hired Kerr Finlayson as Head of Frequent Borrowers Group Syndicate. Finlayson previously worked in SSA Debt Syndicate at RBC Capital Markets.

Iva Horcicova has left ING where she was a VP in High Yield DCM. Her next role, we understand, is yet to be disclosed.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch has hired Astghik Khachatryan as a Director in Leveraged Finance, based in Paris. Before joining Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Khachatryan was a Director in the Financial Sponsors and Leveraged Finance team at Credit Suisse in Paris.

LGIM Real Assets has made two senior hires into its growing Private Credit business. Sarah Aitken has joined as Infrastructure Asset Manager and Amie Stow has joined as Private Credit Product Specialist. Previously, Aitken was a Director in Portfolio Management, Infrastructure & Energy at Lloyds Bank, and Stow an Investment Director specialising in European Fixed Income & High Yield at Fidelity International.

Vikram Balan has joined Pimco as an SVP & Portfolio Manager in the Alternatives team. Prior to joining Pimco, Balan was a Director in Financing & Structuring at NatWest Markets.

Mike Binnington has left his position as VP in Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s London-based Leveraged Finance team and joined Penfund as a VP in Origination, based in Toronto.

Wynne Comer has left Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she was Global Head of CLO, and joined AGL Credit Management as a COO.

Be Spoke Capital has hired Nilesh Desai as Head of Credit in London. Previously, Desai was an MD in Credit at Ares.

Antin Infrastructure Partners has hired Alex Flynn as a Director in their Financing team. Flynn joined Antin from Rothschild’s Debt Advisory and Restructuring team in London.

CQS has appointed Mina Gerowin as an independent NED to support the development of their business strategy. Most recently, Gerowin was an NED for CNH Industrial and, previously, Head of European Credit at Paulson & Co.

Bridgepoint has hired Ingrid Gius for a Portfolio role in their Credit team. Previously, Gius was a VP in the Asset Management team at Fortress Investment Group.

Kames Capital has hired Thomas Hanson as Head of High Yield Fixed Income (new role) & Co-Manager of a trio of funds following the departure of High Yield Co-Manager Jack Holmes. Kames also hired Eleanor Price as a High Yield Analyst. Hanson and Price will be based in Edinburgh. Hanson was previously a High Yield Portfolio Manager at Janus Henderson and Price a High Yield Investment Manager at Baillie Gifford.

Tresidor Investment Management has made a number of Partner level hires (predominantly these consist of former BlackRock employees). Sebastian Kaufmann and Peter Jurik both joined directly from BlackRock. Kaufmann was a Director & Research Analyst in European Credit Strategies, whilst Peter Jurik was a VP in the High Yield Credit Research team. Leopold Bian has also joined as a Partner, he was briefly at SPX Capital as a Portfolio Manager in Global Equities and, prior to that, at BlackRock as a VP in Credit, Rates & Alternative Strategies. Niall Sheehan from Brigade Capital Management has also joined the firm as Partner. Additionally, the firm also hired trader Nikhil Kohli from Oak Hill Advisors and an Analyst, Fredrik Sundberg, from Houlihan Lokey’s Restructuring team.

KKR has hired Akshat Khaitan as a Principal in their Capital Markets team. Prior to joining KKR, Khaitan was a VP in Deutsche Bank’s Leveraged Finance team.

Intermediate Capital Group (ICG) has hired Klaus Maurer as an MD in Subordinated Debt & Equity, based in Frankfurt. Maurer was previously a Partner at Silverfleet Capital, where he focused on the origination and execution of transactions for the firm’s pan European mid-market strategy.

Intermediate Capital Group (ICG) has hired Alan Ross as an MD in Special Situations. Ross joined ICG from Cerberus Capital, where he worked as an SVP with a focus on sourcing and executing credit, special situations and distressed debt opportunities for more than a decade.

Antoine Maspétiol, Marie Bursaux and André Gonçalves left Aviva Investors in Paris to launch a private debt fund focused on impact investment at Eiffel Investment Group. At Aviva, Maspétiol was Head of Private Corporate Debt, Bursaux led euro private debt portfolios, and Gonçalves was a senior originator in the private corporate debt team.

Fidelity International has hired Andrew McCaffery from Aberdeen Standard Investments. He joins in the newly created position of Chief Investment Officer for alternative assets.

Pemberton has hired Richard Meehan as a Director in their Direct Lending team. Previously, Meehan was a Director in the Middle Market Financial Sponsors team at HSBC.

Shantala Menon has joined Brookfield Asset Management as a VP in Infrastructure Debt. Previously, Menon was a VP in Leveraged Finance at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Shantini Nair has joined HSBC Global Asset Management as Senior Product Specialist for Infrastructure Debt Investments. Prior to this, Nair worked at Legal & General Investment Management where she focused on growth of the global private credit platform and product establishment across its infrastructure debt, real estate debt and corporate credit capabilities.

Alessandro Nicolini has joined Partners Group as an SVP in their Capital Markets team. Prior to joining Partners Group, Nicolini was an ED in the Leveraged Finance team at Goldman Sachs

Man GLG has expanded its Credit business with a number of hires. Kaushik Rambhiya, Patrick Kenney and Santiago Pardo have all joined the London based Credit business as Portfolio Managers. Previously, Rambhiya was Chair of the Investment Committee & Lead Portfolio Manager at Aventicum Capital Management, Kenney was at Overland Advisors, based in Santa Monica, where he focused on global distressed and non-US credit, and Pardo was in a credit investment coverage role at The Abraaj Group.

Hermes Investment Management has hired Kevin Roche as a Director for Private Debt & CLOs. Previously, Roche was a Director in the Leveraged Finance team at Allied Irish Bank.

Tareck Safi has joined HIG Capital as an MD & Head of Real Estate Debt. Prior to joining HIG, Safi was Head of Commercial Real Estate Debt Investments at Pimco.

CIFC Asset Management has hired Rinse Terpstra as a Senior Analyst in Credit Research. Prior to joining CIFC, Terpstra was a Senior Investment Analyst at Chenavari Investment Managers, focusing on Leveraged Finance.

Andrew Tully has joined CVC Credit Partners as an MD in their Private Debt team. Previously, Tully was Head of Origination for Financial Sponsors at Santander UK.

Barry Whitman, Head of High Yield Credit for EMEA at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, has announced he will retire at the end of 2019. Whitman launched the firm’s European High Yield team more than 20 years ago.

Luca Marson has joined Clessidra as an Investment Director, based in Milan. Marson was previously an AD in the Debt Advisory and Restructuring team at Rothschild in Milan.

Eric Lalo has left Lazard (Paris), where he was an MD and sovereign advisory expert advising European, African and Asian clients on debt restructurings and other mandates. It is reported he will decide on next steps after the summer.

Perella Weinberg Partners has hired Clinton Ray as a Partner, Guy Morgan as an MD, and Romain Lanier to join their London based Restructuring team as they look to extend their reach in

the European market. Both Ray and Morgan join from Goldman Sachs, where Ray was Head of Restructuring and Morgan was Head of Liability Management in Europe. Lanier joined from PJT Partners where he was a Director in the Restructuring & Special Situations team.

Rodolphe Roch has joined Kepler Cheuvreux as an MD and Co-Head of Debt Advisory. Prior to joining Kepler Cheuvreux, Roch worked briefly at Stella EOC and, prior to that, at Ondra Partners where he was a Director in their Debt Advisory team.

Richard Baker, former Whitbread Chairman and Alliance Boots Chief Executive, has teamed up with Andy Dawson, a former Partner at Advent International, to set up BD-Capital. They are working alongside Nick Basing and David Johnston, a portfolio Non-Exec and former CEO of Aimia respectively. Former Advent International MD, Ron Sheldon, will also join the firm as a Senior Adviser, sitting on its investment advisory committee.

Blackstone Group has hired Tanya Barnes as an MD overseeing Strategic Partners’ impact investing activities. Barnes was previously an MD in the Merchant Banking Division of Goldman Sachs.

Marc Benatar has joined Apax Partners as a Partner within the healthcare sector team. He previously worked in business development at General Electric, essentially in the GE healthcare division.

Volpi Capital hires Erik Berggren as a Senior Associate. Before joining Volpi, he was an Associate at Arma Partners, providing M&A advisory services to technology companies.

Caroline Pinton has joined Equistone as an Investment Manager in Paris. Pinton joins from Messier Maris & Associés where she was an M&A Associate.

Equistone made two appointments in its Munich office. Julia Brunswicker will join the firm as an Investment Manager having previously been part of the DACH team in Munich. Hubert van Wolfswinkel joins as a Director from Montagu Private Equity operating across Germany and the Netherlands.

Edmund Buckley joins THI Investments as an MD. Prior to this, Buckley worked as part of the investor group that acquired KME Mansfeld GmbH and Compact GTL, where he subsequently became CEO.

Thomas de Canniere has joined Searchlight as a Principal. Prior to joining Searchlight, De Canniere worked as a Senior Associate at Blackstone in London.

Apax Partners has hired Aymeric de Cardes as a new Partner in the TMT development team to focus on investments in the small-cap segment. Prior to this, he was CEO of Arkena (a subsidiary of TDF).

Charterhouse has hired James Cocker as a Partner in its deal making team. Cocker previously worked for Lion Capital where he was a Partner and a member of the IC.

Equistone has appointed Will Copeland to its Birmingham investment team as an Investment Manager. He joins from the Business Growth Fund where he was an Investor.

James Davis has joined Astorg as a member of the investment team. Prior to this, Davis was at ICG where he was an MD responsible for investments in the Nordic region and a member of the IC.

Dirk Halboni joins Brookfield Asset Management as a VP. Halboni

previously worked at Morgan Stanley where he was an ED.

Inflexion has hired Sergio Ferrarini as an Investment Director focusing on technology, data and tech-enabled service businesses in Europe. He previously worked for Hg where he was a Principal.

Alexander Friedrich has joined Ardian as an MD. Prior to this, he worked in Partner roles with Quadriga Capital and Gilde Buy Out Partners where he was responsible for transformational LBO and growth expansion transactions.

Dominik Halstenberg joins Hudson Advisors as an MD. Halstenberg joins from Lion Capital where he was a Partner at the firm.

Apax Partners has hired Eric Hamou to join their TMT team. Hamou previously worked at DC Advisory where he was the Co-Head of France.

Mads Hansen has joined Hg as a Partner where he focuses on software and technology investments from the firm’s large cap Saturn Fund. He previously worked for IRIS software Group as a Consultant and, prior to that, he worked at Montagu as a Director.

Gareth Healy has joined Tenzing Private Equity in their investment team. Prior to Tenzing, he was a Partner at Inflexion Private Equity with a particular focus on TMT and travel sectors.

Hg has hired Martin Le Huray as a Partner, where he will be responsible for investing Hg’s £1.5bn Saturn fund. He was previously the Co-Head of European Private Equity at Omers.

Florian Korp has joined Liberta Partners as a Partner. Korp previously worked for Vitruvian Partners as an Investment Professional based in the firm’s Munich office.

Nordic Capital has hired Rainer Lenhard as a Partner and Co-Head of DACH. Prior to this, Lenhard worked at Goldman Sachs where he was an MD focusing on European healthcare companies.

Stirling Square Capital hires duo Amélie Mazurier and Adriaan Bloys van Treslong in their investment team. Mazurier was previously in JP Morgan’s investment banking arm, working on M&A within the consumer and retail team. Van Treslong joins the firm from Hannam Investments.

William McGlashan Jr has recently left TPG. He previously founded TPG’s growth investment unit and led their impact investment team.

Neil Mcilroy joins PAI Partners as a Principal. Prior to this, McIlroy worked at H.I.G. Capital in his investment team.

Sandaire Private Equity has hired Michael Mowlem who joins the firm as an MD. He was previously at LGV Capital where he was on the IC and, latterly, its Chief Executive.

Levine Leichtman Capital Partners (LLCP) has appointed Erik Nobel as an MD. Nobel will lead LLCP’s structured equity origination and investing efforts in the Nordic region. Prior to joining LLCP, Nobel worked as an Investment Director at AP6. 

HIG Capital has appointed Markus Noe-Nordberg as an MD and

Head of Mid-Market Private Equity in Europe. Prior to joining HIG Capital, he was a Partner and Founding Member of Pamplona Capital.

KKR has recruited Jérôme Nommé as their first Head of France. Nommé previously worked at Sun Capital where he was an MD.

TSG has appointed Beth Pickens as a Principal based in their new London office. Pickens was previously an MD and Head of European Consumer Banking at William Blair.

ICG appoints Jamie Rivers as an MD in the UK Equity and Mezzanine team. Rivers joined ICG from BC Partners, where he was originating and executing private equity investments, primarily in the UK.

Farview Equity Partners was recently founded by John Rosenberg, Guy Sochovskyis, Samantha McGonigle and Dipish Rai. Rosenberg is a Partner at the firm and previously was a General Partner at TCV. Sochovskyis is also a Partner at the firm and was previously a VP at Vonage. McGonigle, is another Partner at Farview and was previously a Partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges where she was an M&A lawyer. Rai is a Principal at Farview and was previously an Investment Professional at Providence.

Teleios Capital Partners has hired Max Steinebach as an Investment Professional. Previously, he worked at Charterhouse Capital Partners.

Advent International has hired Bryan Taylor as a Managing Partner and Head of the Technology Investment team. Most recently, he was Co-Head of TPG Capital’s Technology Group, where he was instrumental in building the firm’s software investment capabilities and jointly led a 20-person team.

Olaf Tensen has joined Pamplona Capital Management in the newly created role of Country Partner for Benelux. Tensen was previously a Partner at AAC Capital, specialising in mid-market buyouts in Benelux.

LGT Group has announced that Sev Vettivetpillai, who joined the firm last year from Abraaj Group, is set to leave.

PRIVATE EqUITy: UK SMAll-CAP & lOWER MID-CAP

Livingbridge has hired Samuel Adebiyi and Joseph McGee as Investment Managers. Adebiyi previously worked for PwC, where he was a Deals Manager and McGee worked at Strategy& (part of PwC) as a Strategy Consultant.

Apiary Capital has hired Dan Adler as a Partner and member of the IC. Prior to this, Adler worked at Lyceum Capital where he was a Partner.

LDC has added two senior hires to its Manchester team, Dale Alderson and Aziz Ul-Haq. Alderson joins the team as a Director and makes the move from LDC in Yorkshire, where he held the position of Investment Director. Ul-Haq joins as a Director from Deloitte, where he was a Partner in the firm’s M&A Advisory team.

LDC has also strengthened its London team with the appointment of two Investment Directors, Joseph Fison and Joe Tager. Fison joins from Cumulus Asset Management, where he was a Partner and a Director of Principal Investments. Tager previously led investment activity for the private office of Luke Johnson, where he worked on leisure sector transactions. 

LDC has hired Phil Hinson as Investment Director bolstering its Midlands team. Hinson joins LDC from PKF Cooper Parry, where he was part of the Corporate Finance team.

Johannes Bayer has joined Ambienta as a Principal based in Düsseldorf. Prior to this, Johannes was an Investment Director with the mid-market private equity firm Capiton.

Growth Capital Partners (GCP) has appointed Liam Bennett as an Investment Executive. Bennett joins GCP from KPMG.

BGF have made a number of recent hires. Sophie Brand joins as an Investor from Deloitte’s Consumer & Retail M&A team. Grant Paul-Florence has been hired to lead the London Investment team. Paul-Florence joins from Octopus Investments, where he was Head of Intermediate Capital. Tom Horton joins from Lloyds Banking Group, where he held roles including Head of Midlands Business Services and Relationship Director for Lloyds’ Midlands Mid-Cap team. Subi Inayat was hired as an Investor in the Birmingham office. Previously Inayat was a part of KPMG’s Corporate Finance team. Simon Blackaby joins as an Investor in the quoted team and he was previously part of the EMEA Equity Capital Markets team at Jefferies. Spencer Woods was hired as an Investor in the Manchester office and joins from Wheatsheaf Group where he held the role of Senior Investment and Portfolio Manager.

Quadrille Capital has hired Edouard Brunet as a VP and Alejandra Duran Gil as a Senior Associate. Brunet was previously an ED within the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs and Gil worked in the M&A team at Messier Maris & Associés.

Idinvest Partners has appointed Bao Dinh as Investment Director in the firm’s Venture Capital team. Prior to joining

Idinvest Partners, Dinh was a Director for the region EMEA at HotelTonight, a mobile app for last minute hotel bookings.

Holland Capital has hired Margot Engels as a Partner to focus on the healthcare sector. Engels previously worked at Opdidakt where she was an MD.

Metric Capital Partners has hired Lars Eriksson as an Investment Director and tasked him with opening their Stockholm office. Prior to joining Metric, Eriksson was a Partner and Head of European Origination at the Riverside Company.

Kester Capital has hired Patricia Hamel as a COO and Peter Ralph as a Principal. Hamel was previously at Livingbridge where he was an Executive, and Ralph was an Investment Director at Spring Ventures.

Synova Capital has made three new hires: Sunil Jain, from Sovereign Capital as an Investment Director; Mike Mullally as an Investment Manager from Alantra; and Emily Bullman as an Investment Executive from the Financial Sponsors team at HSBC.

Charlie Johnstone co-founded Newlands Capital alongside Fiona McMahon, both of whom previously worked at ECI Partners. Johnstone was a Partner and the former Head of Deal Origination at ECI, and McMahon was an Investment Director.

David Keenan joins Nimbus as an Investment Professional. Keenan previously worked in PwC’s Corporate Finance division where he was a Director advising on mid-market private equity transactions.

Volpi Capital has hired Joerg Klasmeyer into their investment team. He joins from Investindustrial where he was a VP.

Abingworth has hired Bali Muralidhar as a Partner. Prior to joining Abingworth, Muralidhar was a Senior Partner at MVM Partners.

Ricardo Sommer joins Silverfleet as a Principal, where he will be responsible for Silverfleet’s lower mid-market activities in the DACH region. Sommer joins from Quadriga Capital, where he was a Director with responsibility for buyout investments in the DACH region covering industrials and business services sectors.

Keensight Capital has appointed Stanislas de Tinguy as a Senior Director and Jan Kinsky as an Analyst. De Tinguy joins Keensight Capital from BNP Paribas CIB where he was an MD and Co-Head of the TMT Investment Banking team for the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining Keensight Capital, Kinsky worked as a Strategy Consultant at Roland Berger.

YFM Equity Partners has appointed Helen Villers as an Investment Manager. Prior to this, Villers worked at Grant Thornton UK as part of the London Lead Advisory Corporate Finance team.

Endless has hired James Warburton as an Associate Director in its Manchester team. He previously worked as an Assistant Director at Deloitte.

Stonehage Fleming has hired Meiping Yap and James Jefferson as

a Director and Senior Associate, respectively. Yap joined from GIC, and Jefferson previously worked at MVision.

Pantheon has opened a Dublin office and appointed five staff to run its Irish operations. Stephen Branagan has been appointed CEO and Head of Ireland. Prior to this, Branagan worked at Farmgas Community Partners. Maeve Kelly has joined from Cantor Fitzgerald as Head of Compliance. Laura Kilduff has moved from HSBC Ireland to become Operational Risk Manager and Chief Risk Officer, while Sinead McQuaid has joined from Goldman Sachs as a Senior Fund Accountant. Naomi Daly will chair Pantheon Ireland’s board.

Invest Europe has appointed Thierry Baudon as its new Chair. Baudon recently left Mid Europa Partners which he founded in 1998.

Partners Group has hired Gordon Brown, who will advise the Swiss firm on impact investments. Brown was a former British Prime Minister.

Vijay Bharadia joins Intermediate Capital Group as its new CFO and COO. He will leave his position as International CFO at Blackstone, where he is responsible for financial, tax and regulatory reporting across Europe and Asia.

General Atlantic has hired Loek van den Boog as a Special Advisor and Chairman of General Atlantic in the Netherlands. Van den Boog joined form Mendix and Myriad where he was Chairman.

Activa Capital has appointed Alexandre Chollet as CFO. He will be responsible for coordinating their cross-functional activities. Prior to joining Activa, he was a Director of Investor Relations at Naxicap Partners.

Northleaf Capital Partners has appointed Sophia Damianou as an MD of Business Development for EMEA. Prior to this, she was a Director of Marketing at CapeView Capital.

James Harper has joined Apposite as a Finance Manager. Prior to joining Apposite, Harper was at Coller Capital where he was part of the finance team.

Gresham House has appointed Samee Khan as General Counsel. Khan joins Gresham House from the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), where he was responsible for establishing and then leading the legal and compliance function within its private equity department.

Bart De Leeuw has joined Fortino Capital as CFO. De Leeuw previously worked at Ackermans & van Haaren as an Investment Manager.

Khawar Mann has resigned as CEO of Abraaj’s healthcare fund, less than a week after TPG took over the firm’s management.

Michael Moore has joined British Venture Capital Association as Director General. Previously, Moore was the former Liberal Democrat MP and Scottish Secretary.

The British Venture Capital Association has chosen Cheryl Potter as its new Chair.

APG Asset Management has announced that its Global Head of Private Equity Iain Leigh will step down at the end of the year. Greg Jania and Ken Bloomberg will Co-Head the private equity programme and become MDs.

Align Capital Partners has hired David Perotti as an Operating Partner. Prior to joining Align, Perotti was CEO of eRecruit.

Katarina Staaf joins Six Swedish National Pension Fund (AP6) as an MD. Staaf previously worked as Portfolio Manager for unlisted investments within life sciences at Swedish insurance firm Skandia Liv and as a customer and portfolio manager for banking group SEB.

Neuberger Berman has hired Joe McDonnell as Head of Portfolio Solutions. McDonnell joins from Morgan Stanley Investment Management where he was Head of Portfolio Solutions.

BNP Paribas Wealth Management has hired Richard Clarke-Jervoise as Global Head of Private Equity Investments. He previously worked at Stonehage Fleming heading up the Private Capital Investment team.

Dunas Capital has appointed Juan Díaz-Laviada to the IC. Díaz-Laviada previously worked at Advent International, where he was the President and Country Head for Spain, as well as a Global Partner.

Axon Partners has hired William Gilmore as a Partner and Head of Origination. Gilmore joins from Aberdeen Standard Investments.

Eric Glass has left his position at the Arizona SRS pension fund, where he was the Head of Private Equity, to start a Real Estate investment firm.

Stephen Priestley has joined CDC Group as an MD and Head of Funds and Capital Partnerships. Priestley previously worked at Standard Chartered Bank where he was the Regional Head of Global Banking for Africa, Middle East, and Pakistan.

Lorna Robertson joins Connection Capital as Head of Funds.

Previously, Robertson was at Invesco where she was responsible for managing relationships with investment and private banks and developing strategic partnerships.

The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) has hired Greg Ruiz to be its new Managing Investment Director for private equity. He joined from Altamont Capital Partners, where he served as a Principal.

Brian Saunders has joined Atlas Merchant Capital as an MD and Head of UK and Europe. Prior to this, Saunders worked for Cerberus European Capital Advisors, where he was a Senior MD.

HarbourVest has hired Vinay Mendiratta as an MD. Mendiratta previously worked as Head of Wealth Management Sales at Adams Street Partners.

Vincenzo Narciso departs from Carlyle Group where he was an MD focused on investor relations and fundraising in Europe.
