Mood Board-Music Video Ideas

Musical InfluencesIn the following slide I have included several music videos I have enjoyed. Many of them are either performance or concept based and several of them have a comedic aspect to them (500 miles, paradise, Gangnam style). Some of the videos have elaborate plots (narrative based) which I may think of using. I would like to use something funny or random in my video or the use of characters/people to represent the music or mood.Some of the videos I looked at and featured in my slide:• Gangnam Style• Gentleman• Wonderwall• Paradise• Payphone• Bohemian Rhapsody

Locations

I have chosen several locations that i think would commonly feature in a music video. These include cities, theatres and streets. Depending on the type of music video I will use a specific location.They include:• Rooftops• Bridges• Streets• Parks• Various abandoned places

Weather

• The type of weather present in the video should reflect the type of music that is playing. For example if it is sad music then the weather should be rainy, dull and generally bad, whereas happy music should be set in the sun or a season such as autumn.

Clothing

• Men tend to wear suits or more casual clothing in music videos, though this can depend on what genre of music is being played as well as the type of video. Girls however tend to wear minimal clothing, sometimes being objectified. Their clothes can include hot pants and short skirts as well as revealing crop tops.

Special Effects

• I have selected images of various special effects as I would like to use a wide range of various styles. These range from the use of makeup to visual effects that can be used via software and include things such as bright lights and flames. I also like the idea of using an effect where the camera travels fast around a certain location.
