Ideas for a music video

Ideas• A promotion package for the release of an album, to

include a music promo video, together with two of the following three options:• A website homepage for the band• A digipak for the album release• A magazine advertisement for the digipak

Idea 1• Song: Call me by Shinedown• Location:A forest, ballroom and hallway.• Narrative video• Theory: Todorov, • Mise en scene: Dark colours, with black and white for the flash backs.• Plot• The video starts with a close up of a young man who is walking though the woods alone. There would be

quick shots of his feet, hands and his hair. There is also an over the shoulder shot of him. The video then cuts back to a memory, this would be edited in black and white. The memory shows a couple dancing around at a house party, smiling at one another. There are many close ups of the outfit of the girl and her hair, also the drink her hand, which is splashing about as she dances.

• The scene cuts back from the memory and back to the young man walking though the woods again. His outfit consists of a white t-shirt, jeans and a leather jacket, however his whole outfit is filthy and dirty. The shirt is splattered in dried blood, he is not wearing the jacket but instead is holding it over his shoulder. The jeans are slightly torn on the knees, which show his been in some sort of scuffle and fallen over and the bottom of the jeans are covered in mud. The video then cuts back to the memory, however this time it is only the young man and women in the room, dancing and miming along to a song. To them, there is nothing that could ruin this night for them.

• The video then cuts back one final time to the young man , and once again he is alone in the woods. However now he has fallen on the floor in the middle,of the woods. A close up shows his hands grabbing the dirt and letting it run though his fingers. However his fingers are covered in dry blood, which can assume that his either held someone who's bleed to death or it from his own injuries. The young man then lift a tear stained face to look up at the sky, he stares up the sky for a few moments before letting out a heart wrenching scream. This is though mimed as the music keeps playing. The last scene shows the man walking across the road and opening the door. As he walks into the hallway, his shoe steps on a newspaper on the floor. He leaves a blooded footprint on it as he walks away. Finally there is a close up of the news paper and the front page shows a picture of the girl and the word murder as the headline.

• Synopsis: A young man is walking away from the death of the women he loved. The audience don't know how the girl died but it is implied to be violent. The video shows how the young man is coping with the women's death.c

• The idea is based upon the gun massacres that have happened throughout America.

Idea 2• Song- See you again by Charlie Puth• Location- GraveyardPlot:There are three different people and each has their own story to tell. Each person is standing in front of a grave in a graveyard as the song opens. Each verse focuses on one person and the story of how they found themselves in the graveyard that day.The first person is a mother who's child died from an illness at a young age. The camera focus on her face as she places some flowers on the grave. Behind her stands two other young children, who are the mothers other two children who never met the sibling in the graveyard.The second person is a old man who's wife died many years ago. He is alone, which can symbolise that it's just him alone in the world. He is dressed in a suit and is holding two champagne glasses and a bottle. The audience can assume that he is visiting because it is a anniversary. The third person is a young man around the age of eighteen. He is visiting a fresh grave, which belongs to his best friend who died in a car crash. It is implied that the young man believes his friend death to be his fault as behind him is a car that looks damaged but on the way to being fixed.Final scene shows each person either driving,meal king or cycling away.

Idea 3• Song: I don't wanna be in love. Y Good Charlotte• Location: A club.• Plot • A band is playing as the song opens and it is implied that they are the

ones singing the song, however the camera will not show this.• A girl is standing by the bar and is watching the band by herself. She

has a drink in her hand but it's clear that she's not enjoying herself. Her phone starts vibrating but she ignores it. As the chorus starts all the crowd up, and everyone starts jumping and dancing around.

• The next verse shows a boy walking into the club. He glances around before walking to the bar. He looks rather angry and his phone also starts ringing. At this point he throws his phone onto the floor.

• Both the boy and the girl join in with the dancing. They slowly edge closer to one another until they bump into each other. They both get carried away with the music and as the song finishes they both find each other's phones.
