ContentThere are different camera shots within the music video. An example is close-ups, which is used a couple of times in the video. Also, the jib/crane shot is used when they start the walk to search the Wizard of Oz for this party that they are going to. Also there is the pedestal shot used where the girl puts on her new sparking shoes and they have arrived at the place where the wizard of Oz is. The dialogue may have been scripted to show that this was an urban-based Wizard of Oz party. However, some parts may have been unscripted and the characters may have had to improvise with words.

The effects used in the video are the blue flame effect where it is edited on the Wizard of Oz’s head. Also the use of green screen was used for the place where they dressed up the female Wizard of Oz character.

Mise-en-sceneThe Costumes that were involved in the music video were based on the characters from the Wizard of Oz, for example, the character Dorothy was dressed up in a dress, with sparkling shoes, which follows how Dorothy in the actual movie was wearing the witch’s shoes and the man dressed up in a lion costume to represent the lion in the actual movie. Prosthetic make-up was used to make the human look like a lion.

The lighting of the scenery at first was dark due to the desaturation of colour, but then it was bright full of colours after. At one point of the movie, it goes back to black and white where it is dark. This shows an old fashion sense and the colour shows the new era. But when it shows again, it does not show the old fashion sense due to the clothing that they are wearing in that scene.

The props that were used were a piece of paper clipped to a board, in which the security guard used to check who was on the guest list. Also, a bag was used to carry the woman’s dog. Also, a champagne bottle was used as a prop, which was opened to use against the witch.

The movements of the characters were different. The lion was looking around looking very scared which is ironic in some case because lions are known to have an image of intimidation. The robot was looking around like he knew what was going on within the scene. The female character was dancing because she knew what was going on which was a party and she was ready to have fun.The Wizard of Oz facial expressions gave the impression that he was powerful and he would only let someone in if they had a reasonable explanation, which in this scenario, it would be to party.

The location was at first outside of a nightclub at the start and then it was a path that led to the way of where the Wizard of Oz was for the characters to find and for access to be granted to the party. After they are accepted in, the location is where there is a stage and people are looking up towards the group performing. After, it is set back to where they set off to look for the Wizard of Oz with everyone dancing and celebrating.

MeaningThe meaning of this song is that if a person is attending a party, they should be ready for it, be prepared for this party; to be prepared to have an enjoyable time of their life. They use the Wizard of Oz theme to portray this meaning across to the audience. This is more likely to entertain people because of its theme and also the scenes within the music video.

The purpose of this song was to entertain the target audience. The target audience would be party-goers, and party-goes would more likely to be from the age of 16-21 years, meaning that the target audience would be young people. Also, this appeals more likely to the female gender because they use the girl in the video and they dress her up and prepare her for a party. The socio-economic group that this would be aimed at is group E, where people such as students and unemployed people would land.
