The narrative in this video is very similar to the narrative I am going to use in my video, so I will use some of the same camera movements and angles as Rowland’s video has because I think they work well with the narrative. I will use a similar long shot to this one at the beginning of my video to connote that there will be a narrative running through video and beginning to show the audience the location and characters of the narrative.

This is the first time the audience see Kelly Rowland in the video. I will use a close-up the first time the artist appear in video, because I think it makes it clear, for new audiences, who the artist is.

Here, the artist appears in the location of the narrative, which seems to connote the artist to the characters. I want to use this idea in my video, because the band I am using is young and so are the characters in the videos narrative, therefore I want to connote to the audience that bullying can happen to anyone.

I want to use close-ups, like this, in my video to help express the character’s feelings to the audience. I may also use a shadow over the character, as I feel it helps express the tone of the narrative.

This low angle shot here seems out of place because the character in the video is shown as being quite a weak and lonely character, which you would normally connote through using high angle shots. I will try to not use stereotypical angling and camera work in my video, as it makes the audience think more about what is going happen, instead of them already having a good idea about the narrative of the video.

The location of this shot is a school bathroom, which is the location I am going to use in my video, as I think it is a relatable location for many people who have been bullied. Also, I will use similar lighting to in this shot because the lighting in this location gives it quite a harsh and emotionless look which helps build the videos the narrative.

The blank shot in the video connotes a time change and adds to the powerfulness of the last scene, where the young boy is found dead in the school bathroom. I will try to find a similar way of creating an impact in my video, for example, I may include a black shot, slow motion or a still shot.

In this shot the young boy is being carried out and his peers are outside of the school watching. An establishing shot is used here to show the audience that the location of the narrative has changed to outside the school and connotes that there may be more characters to be introduced to the audience. I will use several establishing shots in my video to show the audience where the video is set.

In this shot the audience see, through a pan, that the young boys peers are outside of the school watching. A pan is used here to help show the amount of people around the boy, which in a way adds to the video’s narrative about a boy feeling so alone because he is being bullied, yet there are so many people around. Also, the pan helps show the facial expressions of the people in the narrative, which is why I will use pans in my video because I think it allows the audience to see a variety of different aspects in the videos narrative in a small amount of time.

This shot is seen through the camera that is in the narrative and can be seen in other shots, (See page 8). I like this idea because I think it brings the audience closer to the characters in the storyline and I may use something similar to this in my video to draw the audiences attention and make the video more unique, as I have not seen many other music videos use this idea.
