Dear Sir/Madam,

We are writing to you as A Level Media Studies Students of St. Andrews Catholic School in regards to

the permission to use some elements of music and lyrics from the song ‘Broken Crown’ by Mumford

and Sons.

As part of our A Level Media Studies coursework, we are required to create and produce a Soap

Opera Trailer. The track is suitable for our trailer because of the lyrics and the melody, as they are

parallel with the themes of the trailer. Also the track puts emphasis on the setting and the relevance

in the trailer is significant. I would like to stress that the whole track is not going to be used, as the

length of the trailer will be between 1 minute and 1 minute 30 seconds long. The song will be further

edited within either dedicated audio editor software, Adobe Premiere Pro. This trailer will be posted

onto an educational blog to be moderated by the exam board OCR.

If there are any problems, please do not hesitate to contact our Head of Media Studies teacher as

[email protected] or contact the school on 01372 277881.

Thank you, for taking the time to read this letter.

Yours Sincerely,

Hannah Hughes, Esme Quantrill, Chris Jacobs and Asuka Young
