Art of combining sounds in response to the laws of harmony, melody and rhythm.

ELEMENTS OF THE MUSIC

- The melody is a set of sounds that sound successively one after another. - The harmony is a set of two or more sounds played at once. Its basic unit is the chord. - The rhythm is the ability to generate contrast in music.

THE MUSICAL GENRES

The musical genres are used to classify musical pieces.

Rock:It comes from the rock and roll and uses melodies and complicated rhythms, using electric guitar, electric bass, keyboard and drums and a brisk pace linked to a provocative pose, some subgenres are pop, heavy metal or punk.

- Pop:

Combination of jazz and rock, aimed at young people. It uses: voice, electric guitar, bass, drums, acoustic guitar and piano.

Ex: Coldplay

- Heavy metal:

This is a musical genre that has elements of rock and roll, blues and also classical music.

Ex: AC/DC

- Punk:

This style is characterized by simplicity and independent attitude, fast tempo and simple rhythms.

Ex: The Ramones

INSTRUMENTS:

- Acoustic guitar: is a guitar that uses only acoustic means to transmit the strings' vibrational energy to the air in order to produce a sound.

- Keyboard: is the set of keys which are depressed on the musical instrument to produce sound.

- Bass guitar:It is a musical instrument similar to the electric guitar, but with four strings. It needs to be connected to an amplifier to issue sounds. The bass guitarl is used as instrument of accompaniment or as instrument in many styles of popular music of the world, as the blues, the Fleming, the jazz, the punk, the reggae and the rock.

- Drums:

It is a set of musical instruments of percussion used for many musical groups.
