Short description of the

activity and how you´re going

to carry it out in class:

Divide the class into two choirs (pron= quires).

Each choir must have a conductor- somebody who

can keep a regular beat. Children practise singing a

song along to a CD. Then, each choir performs the

song, but at a given point turn down the volume.

The objective is to see if the choir have maintained

the beat (= kept in time) when the volume is

turned up again.

I´m singing in the rain, just singing in the

rain

What a glorious feeling, I´m happy again

I´m laughing at clouds, so dark up above

The sun´s in my heart and I´m ready for

love

Let the stormy clouds chase, everyone from

the place

Come on with the rain, there´s a smile on

my face

I´ll walk down the lane, with a hap-hap-

happy refrain.

I´m singing, just singing, in the rain.

Then, choose significant words in the song

(adjectives, gerunds, words beginning with a

certain letter). Singers have to stand up and then

sit down every time they sing those words.
