Munich is the capital and largest city of the German state of Bavaria. It is located on the
River Isar north of the Bavarian Alps.
Munich lies on the elevated plains of Upper Bavaria. The warmest month of the year, on average, is July.
The coolest month of the year, on average, is January.
The German education system comprises of the Kindergarten (ages 2-6) and the Grundschule (ages 6-10). The secondary school includes five types of
school; the Gymnasium, the Realschule, the Hauptschule and the Realschulabschluss and the
Gesamtschule.
When you are in Munich, you can go shopping, attend the famous festivals in Munich or visit the
famous Allianz Arena. You can also go skiing, visit its galleries, the botanical garden, the zoo and its
churches.
Munich is home to several professional football teams including Bayern Munich
which is Germany's most successful club and a multiple UEFA Champions League winner. The Munich area currently has three clubs: Bayern
Munich, 1860 Munich and SpVgg Unterhaching in the Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga, and 3.
Liga respectively, which are the top three leagues in the German football league system.
When you are in Munich, you can visit a lot of Galleries, Museums and the Artothek. The visitors can also enjoy the MaximiliansForum. The subway between Maximilianstraße and Altstadtring has been a forum for
modern art since 1973.
