Introduction The project Empower Active Ageing (EmpAct) aims to establish an EU-level network of
European stakeholders committing themselves in an ongoing cooperation and development of
new concerted activities to raise awareness of the importance of the active ageing, in order to
increase competencies of national and regional organizations in addressing the issue. More
specific, the “Empower Active Ageing’’ aims:
• To improve low-skilled adults through formal and informal learning
• To validate skills and competencies
• To reduce the number of low-skilled adults (50+)
• To create active citizenship
• To provide new work skills in order to increase competitiveness and employability
• To educate, train and support adults (50+) to help support their experience and good ideas
for personal development and fulfillment
• To promote social cohesion
• To promote (social) entrepreneurship
The project promotes the participation of older people from any background, including those in
disadvantaged rural areas. EmpAct will actively encourage participation of people from
different socioeconomic backgrounds, including immigrant groups.
To achieve the above aims the project will implement the following objectives:
• To develop an on-line portal where the beneficiaries can explore their occupational interests
in relation to other candidates and promote on line one stop shop website for the extraction of
information on formal and non-formal training courses, group workshops and mentoring.
• Develop and implement an adults’ (50+) training program, which enables them to
understand, support and increase their skills in order to be competitive and productive.
Through innovative activities, adults will be encouraged to remain active and learn to develop
new forms of activity in an interactive atmosphere.

Profile of participants & structure of event The event was addressed to carefully selected and targeted stakeholders to bring together
adults (50+), experts, professionals and trainers to better promote the project and ensuring
their participation in the sustainability of the project. The overall aim is to foster
communication between the two sides and the uptake of the use of the One Shop Portal.
It was attended by 30 participants, representing all targeted stakeholders, including: Ministry
of Education and Culture, Social Partners, Ministry of Health, NGOs (Pankyprian Movement
Equal Rights – Equal Responsibilites, CARITAS), Representative of Embassy of Sweden,
Representatives of Municipalities and Educational Institutions.
In view of engaging participants and making the most of their presence, EmpAct’s held an event
of 2,5 hours, including a theoretical part, ie. the presenting the EmpAct project and tools/
training courses, and complemented by an interactive part, ie. presenting EmpAct’s new
innovative “One Shop Portal’’ tool.
In particular, following a warm welcome by the organizers (Mr. Konstantinos Kloudas), the
EmpAct project and training courses were presented in detail, focusing mainly in One Stop Shop
Portal (facilitator: Mrs Irene Smeraidou and Elpida Christou), while questions by the
participants were addressed.
The reception after the completion of the EmpAct project, presented another opportunity for
further discussion on the One Stop Shop Portal and its impact, other business-related matters
and cooperation, while participants shared a common realization that, in these difficult periods,
upskilling adults over 50+ may be achieved only through mutually educational synergies and
networks.
Promotion of the event Dissemination was mainly undertaken online. A special invitation (see section Agenda and
Logistics) was drafted by Enoros Consulting and EOC and communicated, via social media, and
via personalized e-mails to more than 50 specifically selected stakeholders.
Feedback on the event Feedback by all participants, with no exception, was enthusiastic and useful for the project and
its further steps.

promoted to targeted, related stakeholders in a very productive way.
The main benefit of the event was that EmpAct’s Project Output (One Stop Shop Portal) was
welcomed as added value tools and all the participants declared their willingness to follow up
the next steps of partners’ actions. Each participant expressed the willingness to reinforce
awareness-raising on the EmpAct project and available results, on the topic of up skilling adults
over 50 as well as the importance of undertake and/or support initiatives promoting
educational synergies.
The Multiplier Event/Final Conference aims to attract policy-makers and representatives of
business, entrepreneurs, experienced mentors and representatives of ministries, educational
institutions, in view of involving other areas of activity and multiplying project impact and
