This training course is for maintenance technicians who need to become certified by the EPA and to work with AC refrigerants. A technician must hold this certification in order to legally purchase or handle all refrigerants used in

residential and commercial air conditioning systems.

The morning session will cover and clarify the information students must learn from reading and reviewing the EPA 608 handbook. It’s critical that all students achieve a passing score

on all 4 sections of the examination: Core, I, II, and III. (Please note: This class is not intended to teach any of the skills required to repair refrigerant systems. It is focused on

understanding and confirming the EPA rules and regulations around the handling and use of refrigerants, as they are detailed in the Handbook.)

Clean Air Act Definitions Dehydration Evacuation Environmental Impacts Recovery, Recycling & Reclaiming Refrigeration Cycles Safety Procedures Section 608 Regulations Shipping Requirements Substitute Refrigerants & Oils *Purchase and distribution of the EPA 608 booklet is recommended (2) weeks before the scheduled date of the class, to give students the chance to become familiar with the information they will be tested on.
