The following population growth information is for key counties in Central California, Florida and Texas. Summer 2012 - Issue No. 18 Multicultural & Sustainability Times The Gayle Brand, President, Chicago Title Houston “Chicago Title Houston has participated in the Green Program for a couple of years and the results have been extremely positive. We have saved thousands of dollars in paper and toner costs and joined FNF Green efforts to reduce our carbon footprint, and we are also enhancing our company image as a responsible corporate citizen. The Multicultural Marketing Program has been a much needed and long awaited market- ing and educational tool for our operation, which resides in one of the most diverse markets in the nation. Our team, as well as our residential and commercial clients, have found the bilingual brochures, websites and other marketing tools to be very important in bringing added value to their relationship.” A USA Today cover story on May 17, 2012 reported that “…more than half of all babies born last year were members of minority groups…Hispanics, blacks, Asians and other minorities accounted for 50.4% of births.” Industry research continues to report that in the next decade six to seven first time homebuyers in the U.S will be Latino, Asian or African American. I will venture to say that in states like California, Florida, New York and Texas, where 33% of the U.S population resides and 40% of title premiums are underwritten, it will be more like that seven to eight first time home buyers will be Latino, Asian or African American. I continue to drive these demographic numbers home because I know some of our colleagues have not included multicultural marketing in their tool box. On a Green note, stay tuned for some exciting FNF Green updates this summer: Green CAP (Compliance Affirmation Program) will be later introduced this summer. The objective is to ensure accountability and to empower leaders of our certified green branches.
