DIGITAL TECHNOLOGYDigital technology is consumed in many ways around the world nowadays, the secret behind it all is Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi is used to connect devices to the internet, without Wi-Fi life wouldn’t be the same. Digital technology without Wi-Fi would be a hassle, you wouldn’t be able to connect or even talk to people in other places (country's). Connectivity from a Wi-Fi to a computer is as easy as plugging a charger into a phone. You can also do wireless connectivity, a phone would work with Wi-Fi even if your as far as 10 meters from the router. Connectivity doesn't just mean Wi-Fi, connectivity also takes part in a phone call. Connecting one phone server to another is also connectivity. Through Wi-Fi you can access things like the news, weather and many other things. Using the internet to read the newspaper would be classed as convergence as your using a digital technology to access many more things. You can also use a game console to watch Netflix so that would also be convergence. game consoles also use wifi to connect to the internet, the reason behind that is so you can interact with other people over the world so this would be called interactivity. Using your game console to play and also communicate with other gamers around the world. on many devices, games console, computer, laptops and even mobile devices it always gives you an option to personalise your home screen or even lock screen. You can personalise the device however you want, it all goes down to your preference. Some people might leave it as default or many might but a image of themselves or family as your able to personalise

Interview’sMy Brother

What devices do they use? Apps/Features? He uses a Samsung galaxy s6 edge for social media and phone calls normal    phone

uses. Also has a IPad 3 that he occasionally uses to catch up with his EastEnders, BBC IPlayer and Netflix are the main apps used to catch up on anything missed, Netflix would be to catch up with new shows released.

How often? Every single day after 8pm as he is free, work and gym sometimes football so just

before heading to bed. How important are the technologies to you? Very important, without these apps and technologies he wouldn't be able to catch up

with missed shows. The TV is useless in our house due to the iPad and computer. Is digital technology good or bad? Digital technology has transformed how people communicate, learn and work. So

without digital technology life wouldn't be the same, it will all be a struggle to communicate, learn and work. Digital technology is one of the best things.

My Sister What devices do they use? Apps/Features? My sister uses a iPhone 6s plus for everything, from phone calls to watching films on netflix.

She doesn't watch anything apart from power and prison break, she's mostly watches power on Netflix. Because it's the French version of Netflix there isn't prison break so she streams it illegally online (Putlocker.com).

How often? She watches is every Saturday and Sunday due to work taking up most of the time. However

she occasionally watches one or two episode of prison break at work as its a office. How important are the technologies to you? Not that important, work takes up most her time so she mostly busy with everything else.

Only Saturday and Sunday it would be useless but even though she's free there's still other errands for her.

Is digital technology good or bad? It is arguable, because digital technology is useful for everyone who uses it for the right

purpose. However it also corrupts a lot of people who uses it for the wrong purpose. There is a bigger percentage that uses it for the right purpose so i would say it is good but still arguable.

DEFINITIONS Immediacy: Direct access or involvement to media, the advantages is that you don’t need to wait a long time to access it. However the massive disadvantage is that it requires a great amount of effort.

Access: being able to approach or proceed while doing something, walking through a door would be gained access to the room, the advantage is that you can easily access something that’s accessible on the other hand not everything is accessible so that would be disadvantage.

Convenience: when you are able to proceed something without any difficulty, it makes everything more simple and easy to do.

Portability: When you are able to carry things around (devices) so a mobile phone would be a great example of portability. Portability helps you take your important things while travelling around, however the pain is losing these portable devices due to them being portable and wireless so easier to be left somewhere.
