The AHWI PhilosophyAt AHWI, we put the demands of customers first. Our extensive range of mulchers are designed and built for maximum efficiency and productivity, with ease of maintenance and minimum downtime.

AHWI mulchers include features such as twin belt drives, dual overrunning clutches, durable tungsten carbide tools, gearbox synchronisation and hydraulically controlled protection flap as standard on most models.

The AHWI range includes the FM models for tractors with PTO drive and three-point linkage; the RT400/UZM700 crawler tractor/mulcher unit; FMH hydraulic drive models for excavators and skid steers and the powerful RM700 mulcher with on-board drive.

Tool configuration has been specifically developed to allow better mulching with fewer tools – about half the number of the competition. That means less cost for tool replacement. The tools are secured with high tensile bolts allowing tools to be replaced easily and individually. AHWI toolholders are made bigger and stronger too, avoiding costly breakages.

FM Forestry Mulchers for TractorsFM500, FM600, FM700Designed for tractors ranging in power from 75 kW (100 hp) to 320 kW (400 hp) with PTO drive and three-point linkage, the FM Forestry Mulcher series are the workhorses of the AHWI range.

Using AHWI’s patented ‘W’ linkage system, the PTO drive geometry ensures maximum power is transferred to the mulcher drum over a greater range of mulcher positions.

The hydraulically operated pushbar gives the operator more control over the vegetation being mulched, and is available with or without teeth, depending on the application.

Most models offer optional cutting tool installations, while the FM700 model is equipped with the Profi tool layout. This revolutionary system has a host of features which make for controllable mulching performance, long tool life and excellent serviceability.

FMH Mulchers for Excavators and Skid Steers FM400H, FM500H, FM600H, FM500HSSFor applications where accessibility and uneven terrain are issues, AHWI’s range of hydraulically driven mulchers are the ideal solution. Compact, powerful and built to cope with harsh conditions, the FM400H, FM500H and FM600H can be mounted on most excavators of the appropriate size.

For situations where maximum power is essential, a matched powerpack provides hydraulic flow to the mulcher head, although most suitably matched excavators are capable of providing sufficient flow. The FM500H is available in two widths, the narrow model designed for mulching in confined areas, while the wider model is more suitable for larger areas. All excavator mounted mulchers can be used over a wide range of heights and can mulch vegetation and small trees ‘top-down’

The FM500HSS turns your skid steer loader into an aggressive mulching machine. Suitable for loaders of between 41–90 kW (55–120 hp) with adequate hydraulic flow, the FM500HSS is perfect for mulching in confined spaces such as orchards, closely spaced plantation timber and crops. For skid steers with different flow rates, a range of pulley sets is available.

Self-powered Mulchers RM700, UZM700AThe RM700 and UZM700A are powerful mulching attachments with on-board power, suitable for wheel and tracked loaders, as well as tractors. The RM700 is mounted on a wheel or tracked loader and is driven by a massive 300 kW Cat diesel.

Mulching power is delivered to the mulching rotor via fluid couplings and belt drive. The UZM700A can be configured either to be towed behind a prime mover or attached to a loader.

UZM Mulcher with RT400 Crawler Tractor

ToolsAll tools are cast from high grade steel and carbide tipped for efficient mulching and long life.

Tools are secured by high tensile bolts and are individually replaceable. The AHWI tool bolting method ensures that tools are held more securely, do not work loose during operation and bolt threads are not subjected to damaging compression forces.

Toolholders are built extra strong to avoid breakage, even in extreme conditions.

For the most demanding situations, the RT400 crawler tractor with the perfectly matched UZM700 mulcher is unsurpassed for productivity and efficiency.

The RT400’s D5 tracked configuration gives it the edge in muddy and steep country, while the powerful Deutz diesel delivers plenty of power to the crawler tractor and mulching head.

Full ROPS/FOPS forestry protection package and well laid out pressurised cab with integral airconditioning ensure safe working in the harshest conditions.
