MPS Garden Club AND THEIR YUMMY PUMPKIN SOUP RECIPE 1 KG Pumpkin peeled and chopped 1 litre of water 1 teaspoon of salt 25g butter 1 large onion finely chopped ½ teaspoon nutmeg or ginger. Boil pumpkin with water and salt until very tender. Mash with potato masher until smooth. Melt butter in a separate pan. Pop onion in and cook it gently. Put this in with the pumpkin. You can whiz it all up rather than mash it. Taste it. You may need to add more salt and pepper. Stir in a can of coconut cream if you wish. MPS Hockey Draw Saturday 28 th May 9:00am Navy Sticks V Kia Kaha JNLTurf Quarter 3 Jade Sticks V Dalefield JNL Turf Quarter 2 Wheelie Shoes/Uniform We have noticed a few children wearing Wheelie Shoes to school. These are not appropriate footwear for school. They damage the carpets and floors. Please do not allow children to wear them to school. Also please remember to make sure students have the correct uniform on or send a note. We will always see if we can find students regulation uniform they can borrow for the day if need be. COLD RAINY SEASON Please ensure children are sent to school with warm jackets, sweatshirts and shoes and socks on their feet. It is far too cold in the mornings now for them to be coming to school in just their polo shirts and nothing on their feet. MPS Garden Club POP UP SHOP THIS WEDNESDAY OUTSIDE MS WALTERS OFFICE. Fresh tomato relish, zucchini relish, quince jam, citrus splash. All $2 - $3 All money raised helps us buy seedlings, fruit trees and ingredients. WILD WEATHER SHOW Tuesday 14 th June 2016 - $2.00 per student. Richard Scholes is back with some of the most exciting experiments from Crazy Science & H2Whoa! plus new earth-shattering, lightning striking experiments that will change the way students see and feel the weather. Students will be let loose in a science lab where discovering the mysteries of planet earth and the weather are a top priority. The crazy scientist has devised some of the world’s wackiest experiments to explore the inner workings of the sun, cyclones, rain and clouds. But he needs some clever assistants to help him uncover the answers# Students will be drawn into the world of crazy science as they become part of the experiments and assist Richard as he brings the power of the weather into the classroom. Wild Weather: The Crazy Scientist Strikes Back is a visual, messy, larger than life look at the way our wild world works. Shopping Bags We have run out of shopping bags. Please send any spare to the office. Thank you. ABSENCES Have you ever thought about why we need to know if your child/children are away or going to be late to school? What if you drop them off outside school, or they leave home to walk or bike and something happens and they don’t make it to school. It is extremely important that you make contact with us when your children are absent so we can stop looking for them! You can phone school 377 5297 phone our cell 027 711 9021, text, email, use the school app or send a note with another student - Or have your cell phone turned on so when you receive a call from school you can answer it.
