Essential Question

Write a muckraking article to persuade citizens that your issue is an urgent

problem that can be addressed with a specific Progressive reform. Provide

solid factual evidence to support your claims. Use persuasive writing

techniques to make an argument and convince the reader to take action to

support this reform.

Edmodo Small Group

• You have now been added to a Small Group for your team’s newspaper. You

will use this Small Group to:

• Share Link to your Google Doc for peer editing

• Provide all the elements of your final product to the person who will put it together for

your team news blog.

• Give me information about team contributions at the end of the project

• You will need to use Google Docs to write your article

• When it is time to peer edit, you will use the Comments and Editing tools to

make suggestions for revision

• If you have experience with this, please help your classmates

• It is very important that when it is time to share your document on your

Small Group on Edmodo that you use a Shareable Link that Anyone with

the Link can Edit

Timeline

• TODAY

• Get your rough draft finished by the end of the period.

• Post link to your Small Group on Edmodo.

• Begin peer editing (suggestions only, wait on making revisions)

• This weekend

• Finish peer editing

• Post final blog elements (headline, picture, citations, etc.) to your Small group Beforeclass on Mon.

• Monday

• One of you will follow along as I explain how to make Blog page on Weebly

• The others will work on making Revisions of all 4 articles (bring headphones)

• Take a break from project to study for test

• Tuesday = Test (50%)

• Thursday

• Final blog due Before class

• Begin reading/commenting on articles
