NEW INITIATIVES

§ It has developed a National Security Plan for the country where it discussed security challengesposed to various critical social infrastructures & key resources and the technology-based solutionsto mitigate those challenges;

§ This document has also estimated the security expenditure for implementing robust securityprovisions and installing state-of-art security products in various sectors of the whole countrythrough a detailed analysis (sector wise). The estimated security cost is in the tune of US$8 billionper year;

§ Micro Technologies felt the need for setting up Security Technology Zone (STZ) as infrastructureavailable for international companies to set up security manufacturing plants to develop securityproducts;

§ The STZ would give rise to huge employment generation, development of cutting edge technology,market competitiveness and export potential for security industries;

§ Micro Technologies is in the league of implementing safe / secured city plan along with its Israelipartner on global basis.

§ “Cloud” is simply a metaphor for the Internet;

§ Users do not have or need knowledge, control, ownership in

the computer infrastructure;

§ Users simply rent and access the software, paying only for

what they use;

§ A definition refers to any situation in which computing is

done in a remote location (out in the clouds), rather than on

your desktop or portable device;

§ You tap into that computing power over an Internet connection;

“The cloud is a smart, complex and powerful computing system in the sky thatpeople can just plug into.”

§ When it’s smarter to rent than to buy;

§ A major shift in the way companies obtain software and computing capacity is under way as more companies

tap into Web-based applications;

§ 2008 study by Merill Lynch predicts that by 2013 = the annual global market for cloud computing services will

surge to US$95 billion;

(Microsoft = US$51 billion, Google = US$16 billion, Amazon = US$14 billion, Yahoo = US$7 billion)

§ IBM is spending US$360 million to build a new data center to support its cloud computing strategy;

§ Cloud Computing has been targeted as one of Microsoft’s top five corporate priorities;

§ Gartner Group proclaimed cloud computing as the most important strategic technology for 2010.

Strategic requirementsThe strategy of your company is anchored in the philosophy that IT based products can dealwith a variety of problems faced by the society provided the specifics of the problem are welldefined. Our endeavor has been to identify the problems faced by a common citizen that canbe ameliorated with the help of the state of art communication and embedded technology.Once the problem is known, we make a concerted attempt to sort out the issue in the mostefficient manner at the lowest possible price. At the same time the long term interest of thestake holders has to be supported by a far sighted policy.

The main steps involved in getting the product to the customer are:

Ø Identify customer requirementØ Examine marketabilityØ Define the design strategy including optimum modular technology and skill requirementØ Lay out the quality and testing scheduleØ Marketing and installation of the productØ Generate a feedback mechanism
