MTC Technology Acquisition and Study Mission to Interzum Guangzhou, China (25 – 30 March 2019) The Malaysian Timber Council is organising a Technology Acquisition and Study Mission to Interzum Guangzhou, China 2019 from 25 – 30 March 2019. The objective of the Mission is to provide exposure to Malaysian timber product manufacturers on the latest developments in wood processing technologies and to encourage the adoption of state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies. Interzum Guangzhou, which will be held from 28 – 31 March 2019, is a comprehensive trade fair for the woodworking machinery, furniture manufacturing and interior design industry. Venue of the fair is Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou, China where the 43 rd China International Furniture Fair (CIFF) is also held concurrently. Industry members from the furniture sector could gather information on emerging as well as latest trends in the furniture industry at CIFF. About 1,500 exhibitors will showcase the latest technology of Furniture Production Industry in Interzum Guangzhou 2019. Categories of machinery and accessories to be exhibited in Interzum Guangzhou include: Machinery and auxiliary machinery for woodworking and furniture production; Machinery, materials and accessories for upholstery and bedding; Materials and components for interior works; Wood products, panels and laminates; and Adhesive, paint and other chemical materials. The Malaysian Timber Council is organising a Technology Acquisition and Study Mission to Interzum Guangzhou, China 2019 from 25 – 30 March 2019. The objective of the Mission is to provide exposure to Malaysian timber product manufacturers on the latest developments in wood processing technologies and to encourage the adoption of state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies.

TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION1. Applications will not be considered complete unless accompanied by the cheque payment/ payment slip for the participation fees (RM1,000).2. Participation fee is refundable but will be forfeited upon cancellation of participation.3. Participants must follow the full programme and activities of the mission until completion.4. Companies must be officially registered and based in Peninsular Malaysia and a member of a timber-based association (i.e. MFC, MPMA, MWIA, MWMJC, PEKA, TEAM).5. Partial sponsorship would be provided to each eligible company on return economy airfare and hotel accommodation. The sponsorship will subject to MTC’s Graduation Policy of up to a limit of five (5) years or eight (8) times of participation in trade fairs and missions organised by MTC, whichever earlier, at which the year 2018 will act as the base year, in accordance to the following schedule:

6. MTC will only sponsor one participant from each company or related group of companies.7. The reimbursement will be calculated based on the total cost of the return economy airfare and hotel accommodation incurred by staff of Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) or whichever is lower.8. All claims for reimbursement must be accompanied by proof of spending and must be submitted to MTC within 2 weeks of the completion of the mission. Late submission of claim or incomplete submission will not be accepted. 9. The company must fall within the definition of SMEs as specified by the National SME Development Council or with sales turnover less than RM50 million per year.10. The company is a majority Malaysian-owned company (i.e. with at least 51% of Malaysian shareholding). 11. Selection of participants will be done on a first-come, first-served basis and other considerations. 12. Preference will be given to companies that have not received any previous financial support for participation in similar MTC-organised events.13. MTC reserves the right and sole discretion to accept or reject any applicants.14. MTC also reserves the right and sole discretion to cancel or postpone or vary the mission.
