Even though we are distanced, your favorite library crew will continue sharing stories and fun with you! We will be offering a variety of weekly storytime programs for different ages and interests.

Registration and logging begins Monday, June 1st and ends Friday, July 17th. Don’t forget to grab your goodie bag through our curbside service!

Register online at https://shelbycounty.beanstack.org. Make sure to choose Mt Laurel as your preferred library to be eligible for Mt Laurel prizes.

Logging of books must be completed by the patron using Beanstack, our online Summer Reading Program. Please call 205-991-1660 if you do not have readily available internet access in order to log.

The last day to enter books into the system is July 17 by 11:59 pm.

Complete activities to win a gift card prize! You must complete all six activities.

To be eligible for weekly prizes, grand prizes, and highest reader prizes, preschool patrons must log reading as books, while rising K-5th graders must log reading as minutes. G

Children must be registered in the Summer Reading Program through our Beanstack site in order to be eligible for all prizes and prize drawings.

The more you read, the more you increase your chances to win the GRAND PRIZE—a Melissa & Doug Puppet Theater with puppets for preschoolers and either a Nintendo Switch Lite with Minecraft or a Bike Link gift certificate & bike helmet for grades K-5th.

If you read and log at least 30 books for preschool or 5 hours for rising K-5th graders you will receive a surprise goodie bag. Keep logging your reading even after you reach that milestone though! The more you read, the more chances you have to win other prizes!

Weekly prizes will be chosen each Friday. For a chance to win weekly prizes, books (for PreK) and minutes (for grades K-5th) must be entered into Beanstack no later than 11:59 pm each Thursday. PreK patrons must log at least one book per week while Grades K-5th patrons must read at least 20 minutes per week to be eligible for weekly drawings. 5 weekly winners will be chosen.

Highest readers per grade level will also be awarded a prize at the end of the program. These will be for preschool, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade.

Activities are new this year! Complete and log all 6 activities through Beanstack for a gift card prize.

Imagine Your Story: Summer Reading 2020

Mt Laurel will offer virtual and at-home programming to inspire you and help your imagination soar! Remember to pick up a goodie bag through our curbside service.

Bookmark Contest! Create a bookmark based on the summer reading theme, “Imagine Your Story.” All patrons, preschool through adult, are encouraged to

submit a design by Friday, July 17th at 6pm. One winner from each age group will be chosen. Full details and entry forms will be available on the library’s website or at the

library through curbside delivery starting June 1st.

your own bricks to make an original (not from a kit) creation. Participants will photograph and share their pictures with North

Shelby Library and Mt Laurel, to be judged by MCLUG representative and Lego Master, Peter Bradberry. Winner will be

announced on July 13th. Registration required.
