FIELD <WORK
Supervised field work is an integral part of the Training programme of MSW Course. Field work enables the students to integrate and reinforce the knowledge acquired in the class room · with actual practice under the supervision of the faculty staff or of an ag~ncy. A minimum of 25 hours of field work per week through out the course is required of all students. The content of field work is planned to provide an orderly sequence of learning.
a) Field Work · is organised as concllrrentand block field work. In addition, every student is . required to complete a full-time block field work placement of four weeks after the fourth semester examinations.
a) Attendants : Students are expected to put in 100 percent attendants in field work. Those who absent from field work without prior permission · wiit be ·. required to • reJ!leat the entire field · work ·of ' that semester.

field work records on ' every Monday pef(ire 10.00 a.m.

c) Project Report : Researh Project Report has been made compulsory under fourth semester of the MSW Course. A major objective in provi di ng a research project is educational. It provides the students an opportunity to collect data from the field und er guici r1nce and familiarise themselves with methods of research . Data collection for project report will be during the fourtt1 sGmes ter.

d) Viva- voce : On t: paper of Viva-voce carrying 100 marks may be divided into fo ur units, eacb unit carryjng

. EXAMINATION AND HE:OUIREMENT ·OF PASSING
a} · The University sha !l cond uct examinations in the theory papers , under each semes tl3r, and the Vhta-voc~ at the close of each seme stei· . Each of these theory papers will carry 75 marks and each Viva-voce will carry 25 marks. E'ach of these theGry papers and project report will have double valuation .
All papers includ inG f ie ld work and viva-voce will have
100 marks each and Research report will have 150 marks.
In the case of theory pc;ps rs, 100 marks shall be distributed
as 75 marks for th e Un iversity written examinations
conducted at the clos e of eac h semester and . 25 marks

b) Grading
The percentage system may be . followed .
a) 50% ·tor a pass (Second class in each paper· separately).
b) An aggregate of 60% . and above for a first cl·ass.
c) If a candidate fails in ·any one paper in any of the four semesters hejshe shall not be awarded with a rank poSition after four semesters, whatever be the total -score. of the · candidate.
·c) Enrolment in Subsequent Semesters:
(i) A student should pass in atleastthree theory papers in each semester for himfher to enroll in the subsequent seme~ter,
