QS/1 Data Systems

P R O J E C T:

At McMillan Smith & Partners, we realize the importance

of identifying, measuring and controlling all project costs.

That’s why we believe in thinking ahead and designing

sustainability in at every opportunity. We discover solutions

that are cost-effective in the short term and sustainable in

the long term. To us, that’s the definition of value.

QS/1 needed an affordable corporate headquarters

facility that is – and would remain – impressive, innovative

and environmentally responsible. McMillan Smith &

Partners assembled a team of forward-thinkers, aided

by sophisticated design and planning tools, to meet the

company’s financial and environmental targets:

• a multi-story, reduced-footprint design allows maximum

greenspace, scenic downtown views and room for

expansion;

• high performance roofing, glazing, insulation and

mechanical systems reduce energy consumption and

atmospheric emissions;

• environmental sensors, monitors and controls optimize

comfort and conserve energy;

• rainwater-capture irrigation systems serve eco-friendly

landscaping;

• advanced utility systems provide maximum daylight and

exceptional air quality;

• flexible physical systems accommodate continuing

growth and technology changes.

Open-air balconies and terraces, landscaped plazas, spacious

meeting rooms and presentation spaces, a bright data center,

refreshment alcoves and an indoor-outdoor café make QS/1

an inviting, inspiring workspace.

Sensitive stewardship of resources proves that it’s a

responsible corporate citizen, today and tomorrow.

INTELLECTUALLY, WE ALL KNOW GOING GREEN IS THE RESPONSIBLE THING TO DO. FROM ORGANIC FOOD TO HYBRID CARS TO SUSTAINABLE DESIGN, THE ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE CHOICE IS ALWAYS THE RIGHT LONG-TERM CHOICE. YET MOST OF US MUST BALANCE OUR DESIRE TO BE

RESPONSIBLE WITH OUR NEED TO BE REALISTIC NOW. DOES IT HAVE TO COST MORE TO GO GREEN?
