https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGw5yTOPTSQ Watch the enormous turnip story and sequence the pictures by sticking them onto the story map in the right order. Talk to your adult about the story. You could even act out the story with some of your soft toys you have at home!
Number activity
We learnt all about one more and
one less. Practice with some objects
to count one more than a number
and one less.
You could do this with small
numbers and it is okay if you only
manage one more to start with.
Challenge: Attached below is a
worksheet to practice one more and
one less of numbers to 10 or to 20.
RE – Last week
hopefully you drew or
talked about a special
place in your house.
Mine was my garden
which I am enjoying
lots at the moment!
Look at the pictures of
different homes around
the world. Look at what
is the same and what is
different.
Could you make a house
for one of your toys?
We are
thinking this
week about
farm and farm
animals. We
also learnt
about chicks
this week. Can
you make egg
sandwiches
with your grown
up or porridge
(thinking about
the wheat) or
make some
bread or animal
biscuits!

This week we are focussing on
doubling. You could start with
objects and think that you need the

3 + 3 =
Creative – Choose either a cow or a pig and look at some pictures of them. Can you paint, draw, chalk a picture of one. If you are painting can you mix the colours to make

was…. One day…. Unfortunately….. Luckily…. The end. Or you could write your own story about an enormous vegetable! My story would be: Once upon a time there was a farmer who planted some carrots as he really liked carrots! One day he went to look at his carrots and there was an enormous carrot. Unfortunately he could not pull up his carrot. Luckily he got lots of his friends to help him and they had carrot soup for tea!
You could start with small numbers
and just do a few sums.
Challenge:
Can you find all the doubles up to 10

If you don’t
want to print

perhaps you

Phonics
We will be moving onto phase 4 phonics
and the phase 4 tricky words which are
attached below. Practice reading the
tricky words with your grown up.
If your child isn’t ready for phase 4 please
practice the phase 2 and 3 tricky words
first and make sure they can recognise
these before moving onto phase 4.
This week you could paint, write in big
coloured letters, chalk your tricky words.
Keep practicing reading them.

Doubles paper chain – if you have coloured paper this is a nice activity to do at home. You can see they choose a different colour for each half of the double. If you don’t have coloured paper the children could make the doubles out of playdough to practice their doubles.
Science - Can you find out about animals that live on a farm? https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0798mln/down-on-the-farm-series-2-1-lambs-and-sowing-the-seeds There is a good series on cbeebies – down on the farm that you could learn all about animals that live on the farm.
Could you find
out about the
names of baby
animals that
live on the
farm?

We have
attached a
matching game
that you could
print out and

VE day: We are not at school today but we have put an activity for today as it is VE day. We have put a colouring in
page at the bottom and some pictures of the street party that they would have had. The children could have a party
in their house or their garden. They could plan it with you – what food are they going to have, are they going to play
any games? They could make bunting to go up for their party with flags on – template attached!
