Partners to this grant request are:

RMCEP, Local Workforce Investment Board, will provide unemployed trainees and employers.

Bi-Cap; Youth Build, Bemidji, will provide unemployed trainees and employers. Youth Build, Red Lake Nation, will provide unemployed trainees and employers. Bemidji Carpenters’ Union will provide incumbent and unemployed workers, and

place those that need it into employment. State Representative, John Persell, will promote the need and opportunity for this

kind of training in his District. Regional Labor Market Analyst, Nathan Dorr, will prepare a report demonstrating

the area labor market demand for NTC’s proposed Green Energy Training.

REBUILD RESOURCES/ PPL ENTERPRISES

•Started in 1984 Rebuild began its first commercial venture as a nonprofit social enterprise in 1985. •Twenty seven years, several business enterprises and many successful trainees later, we are still going strong, preparing men and women for successful reentry into the workplace and into our communities.

Our Business Mix

•Custom Apparel and Promotions--We provide logo apparel and other promotional items for a wide variety customers including Target, Best Buy, Salvation Army, Goodwill, and the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx.

•Contract Manufacturing—assembly, kitting, woodworking and industrial sewing.

MSESP Training Program

•Lean/Green Process Management •Classroom training takes place twice a week for two hour sessions, during or immediately following the paid work day.• On-the-job, real-time application training takes place during lab time on the production floor.

•Job seeking services are provided for employees with barriers to employment•Upon completion of training, Rebuild's transitional employees continue to work in our workplace as Lean/Green Associate, applying the skills they have learned as they continue to seek permanent employment elsewhere.

Outcomes to Date

•31 trainees have received certification in Lean/Green Manufacturing.•29 graduates have received promotion to Lean/Green Associate.
