MSc in Marine Technology(International)

The programme enables graduates working in the marine industry to gain the necessary skills in advanced technologies, managementand business. The programme is dynamic and aims to respond tothe current challenges and demands of the global maritime sector.

The MSc consists of ten 10-credit taught modules and an 80-credit work-based project, and can be completed in just over two years. Modules are also available on a stand alone basis as ContinuingProfessional Development. Each taughtmodule requires approximately 100 hours of study time. Students are required to work through distance learning material (provided via a web-based virtual learningenvironment) before attending a locally-delivered intensive school.

The School of Marine Science and Technology is the largest school of itskind in Europe and is the first marine school in the United Kingdom toprovide a single base for all education, innovation and research related tothe sea. The School of Marine Science and Technology

The MSc in Marine Technology (International) is now being launched in Dubai in collaborationwith Emirates International Maritime Academy.It is strategically located in the UAE to serveaspiring students from GCC and neighbouringcountries. The UAE has a thriving maritimesector and Dubai is fast developing into amaritime centre.

Established in 1834, Newcastle University is one of the oldest civic universities in the United Kingdom and is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of twentyinternationally recognized research-intensive universities. Today it is one of thecountry’s leading academic institutions.

Candidates normally require a first degree in a related discipline (2.2 or above). Students withnon-standard entry qualifications will be considered on a case by case basis. Applicantswhose first language is not English require IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
