Develop your leadership capabilities and move your career to the next level The thread of Leadership across the program: If you are a healthcare professional who wishes to demonstrate leadership in teaching and learning, then this is the program for you. Designed specifically for health profession education institutes, residency program directors and healthcare leaders, this program will support you in becoming an effective teacher, mentor, supervisor and educational leader. This is a highly practical program and assessment includes: case studies, individual and group assignments, presentations, reports, posters, reflections and a change management project. It is the ideal ‘next step’ for you if your role entails teaching and learning on a day-by-day basis, no matter the level at which you work. You will begin by planning out a program of teaching and learning, gaining knowledge on learning theories and curriculum development, and being introduced to learning outcomes and curriculum alignment. You will then progress systematically through program design and development and address teaching and learning methods. You will be offered opportunities to develop your presentation skills and receive feedback from your peers in the supportive environment of the classroom. You will be encouraged to lead the way in new methods of teaching, assessment and evaluation. The focus on your own personal and professional development will be captured in a teaching portfolio which draws on key development psychometrics throughout the program. We include key leaders in health professions education as guest speakers across the modules. The capstone of the program is your dissertation, which will focus on an area of education relevant to your field and where there is an opportunity to be innovative. Key FactsDelivery method: Blended learning, using a combination of classroom and web-based instruction delivered through partnership between the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Dubai and the University of Sharjah.
Duration: Two years part-time
Flexibility & Progression: Modules can be taken as stand-alone and at your own pace. You can progress to a certificate, diploma or masters award within two to five years of registration.
Accreditation: Commission for Academic Accreditation (UAE), National University of Ireland.

Entry Requirements:
1. cGPA: Primary degree with a cGPA score of
3.0 or above on a scale of 0 - 4.0. Provisional
entry is possible with a cGPA of less than
3.0 provided all subsequent Ministry of
Higher Education and Scientific Research
requirements are met.
2. English competency: TOEFL (pbt) - 550
or above. IELTS - 6.0 or above. Test results
must be not more than 24 months old at the
beginning of the program.
3. Equivalency Certificate, if primary degree
was awarded outside of the UAE. Attestation
stamp for a UAE awarded primary degree.
