Students may choose between the campus-based program in which classes meet Monday-Thursday evenings in Omaha, Nebraska, or the online program which consists of eight-week modules that can be accessed at the student’s convenience. The curriculum content is identical for both programs.

FoundationAll students entering the MSAPM program will need to show evidence they have completed at least VUL�JV\YZL�PU�LHJO�VM�[OL�MVSSV^PUN�HYLHZ!�ÄUHUJPHS�HJJV\U[PUN��THUHNLYPHS��JVYWVYH[L��ÄUHUJL��TPJYV�HUK�macroeconomics, and business statistics. Students without a statistics course will need to complete either a non-credit statistics tutorial offered for a fee through the College of Business or an undergraduate statistics course. Students will be limited to MSAPM classes in ^OPJO�[OL`�JHU�LUYVSS�\U[PS�[OL`�OH]L�ZH[PZÄLK�HSS�[OLPY�outstanding foundation requirements.

PROGRAM Overview

The program consists of 30 semester hours of graduate credits IL`VUK�[OL�MV\UKH[PVU�SL]LS�HUK�OHZ�H�ZPNUPÄJHU[�MV\UKH[PVU�in theory, as well as practical applications. It is designed for working professionals and prepares students for careers in security analysis and portfolio management. The CFA program curriculum and the CFA Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct are the foundation of the MSAPM program. The program is taught exclusively by faculty members who all hold the coveted CFA designation as well as advanced academic degrees.

The CFA Program is grounded in the practice of the investment profession. According to the CFA Institute, the program of study for the CFA charter is based on “a job analysis survey involving CFA charterholders around the world to determine those elements of the body of investment knowledge and skills that are important to the practice of investment management.” More information on the CFA program is available at www.cfainstitute.org.

Students who complete the MSAPM program will have the knowledge base to sit for each of the three levels of the CFA exams, but are certainly not required to do so.

What is the selection process?Creighton University uses a rolling admissions process. The University typically acts on applications within a week of receipt. On-campus students start in either August or January while online students have the option to begin their studies in August, October, January, March, or June.

How does the MSAPM program differ from other Masters in Finance programs?The MSAPM program is a specialized Masters in Finance and covers most of the topics found in those more generic programs. This program is focused on applied investment management and is designed from more of a practitioner perspective than a purely academic one.

PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION

Dr. Johnson is a Professor of Finance in the College of Business at Creighton University. He holds a BSBA degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, an MBA degree from Creighton University and a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and earned his CFA charter in 1991. Prior to rejoining the faculty at Creighton, Dr. Johnson was a Senior Managing Director at the CFA Institute and oversaw the CFA Program, the Professional Conduct Program, and various other educational activities. He OHZ�W\ISPZOLK�L_[LUZP]LS`�PU�ÄUHUJPHS�journals and serves on the Board of RS Investment Management.

Dr. Jorgensen is an Associate Professor of Finance and the Director of the MSAPM program in the College of Business at Creighton University. Dr. Jorgensen received his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri in 1994 and earned his CFA charter in 2004. Prior to his career in academia, Dr. Jorgensen was a bank examiner HUK�H�JVTTLYJPHS�SVHU�VMÄJLY��Dr. Jorgensen’s teaching in the 4:(74�WYVNYHT�OHZ�PUJS\KLK�Ä_LK�income, derivatives and ethics. He has published a number of articles in various refereed academic and professional journals.
