    commission guide

    1. OverView of MSAG5200

    MSAG is the access equipment of SS (soft switch equipment MGC). MSAG connects with

    SS via H248 protocol (or MGCP). MSAG is made up of control cardmedia resources sub

    card test card and several subscriber cards, converging with a certain amount of

    narrowband analog phone access and broadband ADSL access. The phone services are

    provided by SS and broadband services are provided by internet.

    2.2. Hardware connection

    1) DIP switch(on backplan) :

    2) Hw connection:

    Master shelf ----Uplink card: GEI

    slave shelf ----Uplink card: SUPI

    X7 and X8 provide two 100 Mbps Ethernet electrical interfaces for

    broadband service uplink.

    X5 and X6 provide two 1000 Mbps Ethernet optial interfaces for

    broadband service uplink.

    X4 is used to connect broadband/narrowband cascade cables,

    which provide 5 4 jack. Leave two rows of pins empty, and

    then plug in the first cascade cable. Plug one cascade cable every

    three rows. Four cascade cables are supported at most to connect

    to four slave shelves

    3) Fiber connection:

    Fiber need connect with Swith/TXN;

    check GISB BACT light change to green Flashing every half second The broadband

    service is normal.

    Also can using command to check uplink status

    4) Subscriber cable connection:

    Leave the first pin empty plug 3*8 cable connector then after that connector leave one

    another pin plug another 3*8 cable connector, this for 1~16 user

    Leave the last pin empty plug 3*8 cable connector then befor that connector leave

    one another pin plug another 3*8 cable connector,this for 17~32 user

    DSL service checking : GELC card ACT light change to green means DSL link up

    VOIP service checking: ALC/RALC card hook light change to green means phone hook

    up

    Also can using command to check status

    3. Service Commission introduce

    Topology for commission

    X4 is used for cascading. The cascade cables provide 5 4 jack.

    Leave the first two rows of pins empty. The third, fourth, fifth, and

    sixth rows are used for FE broadband/narrowband uplink.

    The ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth rows are used for GE broadband/

    narrowband uplink.

    X1, X2, and X3 are only used to connect the backplanes

    1) Power on the master shelf of the cabinet, and the two GISB are in positions. Make the

    GISB in Slot 9 as the active card. All the data configurations below are based on the

    situation where the Slot 9 is active. we recommend you set Slot 9 as active.

    2) Enter the user name and password in serial port ;serial configure baud rate is 9600

    Configure your laptop ip using 144.1.1.0/24 then telnet 144.1.1.1 using outband service

    user name/passwordzte/zte

    3) Enter into the data configuration interface ;

    4) Simple trouble shooting

    1) Using one laptop to dialing ,another laptop connected spare FE port,configure

    uplink to untag to HIS vlan first ;then using monitor session to capture the PPPOE

    packet

    2) Using one laptop to dialing, another laptop using softbras to simulate Bras,to check

    this vlan is ok or not
