Classroom Procedures (Cont.) Materials needed daily: A three-ring notebook 1 pkg. of 5 dividers 24 pack of pencils 1 pack of 12 red pens 1 pkq. Wide-ruled notebook paper 1 ream of copy paper 1 box facial tissues ***10th Grade Only*** TI Graphing Calculator (Optional, but very helpful for

homework.) Calculators are available in the classroom, but are very

limited. Having a personal calculator will help students have additional time at home to use their own calculator.

Classroom Procedures (Cont.) Grades are determined as follows: There will be unit tests after lessons and as

determined by grade level. There will be a minimum of 12 grades for

each six weeks. Major benchmarks and/or projects will be

counted twice. Participation in class is mandatory in order

to achieve success.

Classroom Procedures (Cont.) Late Work Late work that is received one day late will have 20 points taken off for

a total possible of 80 points. Late work that is received two days late will have 40 points taken off for

a total possible of 60 points and then the student will be assigned Lunch Detention.

Late work that is received three days late will receive a zero, a referral to the office and the student’s parent will be contacted.

After the second zero then the student will be assigned after school detention and their parent will be contacted.

After the third zero then the student will receive ISS. All late work will be turned in before 8 a.m. and not during the assigned

class period.

Classroom Procedures (Cont.) Classroom Procedures: Class procedures and school rules govern classroom behavior. It is important to abide by these rules in order to provide a more

productive learning environment for all students.

All students are expected to: Be on time, in your seat, and ready to work when the bell rings.

You will be counted tardy, if not in your seat. During class, ask for permission to get out of your seat.

Be prepared and have all of your materials for the class. You will be counted tardy, if you go back to your locker.

Be responsible by taking care of your personal business between classes. One bathroom break is allowed per six weeks and additional restroom breaks will result in being counted tardy. If you have medical concerns, then I need to be aware of them.

Be nice and respectful by listening to others and taking turns. Be honest and complete your own work.

Classroom Procedures (Cont.) Calculator Procedures: All calculators will remain in the classroom. Students will be assigned a calculator. At the beginning of class, students will get

their calculator from the holder. At the end of class, students will replace

the calculator in the charger. All calculators will be accounted for before

the class leaves for the day.

Classroom Procedures (Cont.) Tutorials Tutorials are offered to any student and are

encouraged for students with a grade below 70. Tutorials are offered Monday through Friday from 7:30

a.m. until 7:55 a.m. and from 3:30 – 4:00 p.m. on Monday through Thursday.

Please note that during certain weeks of the year the teacher has assigned duty. The teacher will notify the students and usually post this information on the board.

Students should make every effort to seek assistance immediately and not wait until the last minute, as the teacher may not be available during the times of assigned duty.
