Life Map

Make a road map of your life. Start with your birth and draw figures or symbols for important events that have occurred in your life up till now. Use your “Idea Inventory” for possible events, places, interests, people, or situations to include on your map. For example, you might put in crossroads at points where you went one direction instead of another. You might want mountains or rivers to stand for times when you faced some kind of a challenge or obstacle. Choose what kind of road it will be on: a six-lane highway, an old country road, or a path in the woods. Will there be twists and curves or will your map look more like a grid sheet? Make this “Life Map” as DETAILED AS POSSIBLE!

Symbol

An object that represents or stands for another idea, concept, person, or event.

In general a symbol is a concrete, tangible item, one you can experience with your senses, that represents a more abstract or unfamiliar idea or event.

A symbol gives deeper meaning by connecting the abstract idea to something more sensory.
