Ms. Cortez’s Philosophy of Education I believe that children are capable of learning alongside a passionate educator to assist them to blossom as well-educated individuals. In order for these children to blossom as independent individuals, I must understand that each child is unique in their own way. With this knowledge, I can construct differentiated lessons that expose each child to be actively involved in their own learning and feel safe in doing so. I was fortunate enough to come across several exceptional teachers from elementary school to my college years. They altered my view of education by displaying that we should take pleasure in learning. These extraordinary teachers also showed me the joy of making a difference in students’ lives, which influenced me to pursue a career where I can return the kindness that they demonstrated towards me. My genuine love for kids also played a significant role of my career choice. From my experiences as a student, I understand the importance of effective teachers. In order to be an effective teacher, I will motivate my students to learn and ensure that they learn in a manner that is engaging, relevant, and meaningful. To successfully achieve this goal, I will implement different teaching strategies to assure that I am meeting the needs of all my students. Ms. Cortezs Philosophy of Education

I believe that children are capable of learning alongside a passionate educator to assist them to blossom as well-educated individuals.

These extraordinary teachers also showed me the joy of making a difference in students lives, which influenced me to pursue a career where I can return the kindness that they demonstrated towards me.

A good understanding of each student will assist me in determining his or her strengths and weaknesses, which enable me to create engaging lessons that will lead them to succeed inside and outside of the classroom.

To certify that each student will succeed in life, I will teach in a student-centered approach to engage active learning among my students. This approach emphasizes on the learners. I strongly agree that through this approach, students will achieve success because it teaches students to reflect on their thinking and obtain responsibility for their own education.

With this in mind, I believe in the importance of creating an intellectual safe environment for my students to be actively involved in their own learning. As a result of this environment, students will be able to voice their thoughts and opinions without judgment. Through this, it encourages students to exhibit their full potential and promote learning. In order to ensure that intellectually safe environment is present in my classroom, I will request for students to generate classroom rules and expectations in the beginning of the school year for everyone to obey. I believe that authorizing students to produce their own rules and expectations is important because it provide students a sense of responsibility in following what they created and agreed upon for their own learning environment. To grow professionally, I will collaborate with colleagues, school administrations and staffs in refinement of my own teaching practices and to acquire new teaching strategies. In addition, I will take opportunities in growing as an educator by attending seminars, informational lectures and other professional developments in obtaining more knowledge to better my instructional strategies or methods to benefit my students.

Ultimately, my goal is for each student to gain knowledge and skills to assist them in the challenges that life launches in front of them. I hope that these challenges will assist each student to reveal his or her full potential in life.
