THE CHALLENGE Regulation (EU) 2015/757 of 29th April 2015 on the monitoring, reporting and verification of carbon dioxide emissions from maritime transport creates an EU-wide legal framework for collecting relevant information from each vessel calling to a European port. The new regulation is requiring shipowners and charterers to take special measures for ships over 5.000 gross tonnes irrespective of where the ship or the company is registered.
