Assignments to DoHow can you support your

child?

Reading 1.Complete the 2 lessons on iReady on your pathway. You are to focus and try your best! I expect a pass rate of 85% or higher. Mr. Awada will continue the iReady raffle tickets after we return.

Students need to make sure no one else is logged into GOOGLE CHROME, otherwise iReady may not work.

If students finish early have them complete more lessons on their iReady pathways or read a book, or use EPIC to read.

Writing Let your child write. Probe them to help them get more details in their stories.

Math Pages 23 and 25 are review from the few weeks before we closed down.

If students want to do additional practice, have them work on Khan Academy on their NWEA Maps.

Social Studies The reading is HARD and NEW information. However, we will review it as soon as we get back. It’s the lesson we left off at and would be great for students to have a little understanding when we go over it.

If they finish early, let them watch episodes of Liberty Kids off of Youtube. They’re awesome and follow along with our next unit. Here’s a link to

Science If the textbook is up and running later this week, I will add an additional reading.

If they finish early, let them watch Bill Nye on Youtube. We do take Science MStep in 5th grade, so it would be a good refresher.

Unfortunately, the online science textbook has crashed today as I sit here and plan next week’s assignments. So for science, if you have access to a camera I want you to go outside and take a picture of an ecosystem and identify at least 3 parts in the food chain/web. If you do not have access to a camera, find a picture online (that is NOT labeled) and label 3 parts of the food chain/web using Google slides or Google Drawing. Then write a sentence describing what you see. Turn your finished work on Google Classroom. Here is an example from my front yard that I did directly on my phone. My sentence would read: In this ecosystem the bird gets it’s energy from the bugs, who get their energy from the soil, which gets its energy from the sun.
