soon as I have the assignment graded. A * means I’m still working

on it and a 0 means they didn’t turn it in.

This is a dual credit course Students earn .5 health credit and .5 CTE

credit with a passing grade Your student can earn college credit in this

class by earning a B or higher and getting certified in first aid/CPR/AED.

The credits earned are for a community college but can transfer to many 4 year universities

We will cover the following topics: Goal Setting/Decision Making/Media Analysis Nutrition Mental Health/Stress Management Relationships/Social Health FLASH (Family Life and Sexual Health) Human Body/Disease Substance Use and Abuse CPR/First Aid

We teach facts and not values. My goal is to give your students the information they need

to make healthy decisions based on their personal values. They will also have several homework assignments where they need to

talk to a trusted adult about their beliefs/values.

Attendance in all classes is crucial to success. Many of the activities from

this class cannot be duplicated

We use the 2014 version of Pearson’s Health and the FLASH curriculum. Text books will be kept in the classroom. There are a

limited number of online text books available for students that need a text at home.

the topics we discuss in class with their family

and other trusted adults.
