CONSEQUENCES• 1st offense = Warning• 2nd offense = Timeout from group• 3rd offense = Miss recess & note home• 4th offense = lunch detention & phone call

home• Severe behavior problems are promptly sent

to Mrs. Bonin

REWARDS• Treasure Tickets• Verbal praise• Stickers• Treasure chest• Special privileges

HOMEWORK• Homework Packet

– Due first thing Friday morning

• Study for tests• Read to Succeed Required Reading

Program• All text books may go home

MISSING ASSIGNMENTS

• 1st offense = Red note• 2nd offense or more = Miss recess &

note home• Any missed work not turned in will

result in a 0– You will also be notified with a red note

for any missing homework assignments

PURPLE FOLDER• Please look through and empty take

home section nightly

• All non-graded work and school information will come home in this folder

• Call or write if you have questions

FRIDAY FOLDER• Bring home every Friday• Return on Monday to qualify for reward

drawing• Signature indicates that you have seen

all graded papers• Behavior and homework status also

included• Call or write if you have questions

Reading• 90 minute reading block• This time may not be interrupted

at anytime– This block includes:

• Whole group instruction• Small group instruction• Managed Independent Learning Stations

INQUIRY MATH• Allows students to explore math

concepts and create their own meaning

• Allows deeper understanding of math concepts

• September: Inquiry Math Family Night

ABSENCES• Call school to report student absences• Call or send a note to request that

homework be sent home or picked up• For each absent day, your child will

receive an additional day to complete work

• Work not turned in = 0• Forms in office for vacations

ABSENCES• State Attendance Law:

– We turn in names of parents whose children miss 10 or more unexcused days of school

DROP OFFS• Must fill out form• Sign has to be placed in car for

pick up.– One sign for each car that will be

picking child up.– Please review handout

PICK-UPS• Be sure to send a note with your child if

you wish to pick him/her up from school

• Be advised, we are required to send students home on the bus if they do not have a note specifying otherwise

• If calling to pick up, please call office before 2:00

EXTRA INFORMATION• Free and reduced lunches

– Must fill out new form online– Office has paper copy

• Consumable fee – Important to pay this small amount in

order to get paper and consumable items

BACKGROUND CHECKS• All parents must fill out to

participate in any school activity– Field trips– Class parties– Volunteering

MISC. INFO.• No cell phones-must stay at home• Lunches need names on outside of

containers• Recess before lunch this year- we

are in need of hand sanitizer

SUPPLY REMINDERS

• Kleenex• Large bottle of hand sanitizer• Vocabulary Journals- $4.00

– sold by office tonight or throughout the week in bookstore

• Added supplies: – 1: 1” binder (any color)– 1: set of 5 tab dividers

EXTRA INFORMATION• Pictures will be August 30th

– Please fill out picture forms and send them back to school

• Starting September 8th we will have 1:30 dismissals each Thursday
