MEET THE TEACHER
Tonia Pack - I’ve taught second, third, and fourth
grade. Previously, I taught in Phoenix, Arizona for 8
years. This will be my 11th year teaching.
I completed my B.S. and Master’s Degree at Arizona
State University. I have a B.S. in Political Science, an
Elementary teaching certificate, and a Master’s
degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am also
Nationally Board Certified at a Middle Childhood
Generalist.
CLASSROOM RULESOne Warning will be given to students for an
inappropriate behavior, then if the behavior continues a
conduct mark will be given. – 5 minutes of recess will be
spent in study hall for each conduct mark.
Conduct Marks for discipline 0-8 E; 9-17 S; 18-26 N;
27+ U

BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT:
T – Talking
M – Misbehaving
U – Unprepared (i.e. homework,
planner, signatures)
OT – Off Task

Each day student planners will be
written in Please check these DAILY. A
sticker or stamp indicates good
behavior. Otherwise a note will be
written.

A= 100-90 B= 89-80 C= 79-75 D= 74-70 F= 69
and below E,S, N, and U for conduct and
homework. Late assignments: 1 day late -5
points, 2 days late -10 points, 3rd day a zero will
be awarded
Parent Volunteers
Parents are welcome to come and help in our classroom during
our reading small groups and math small groups.
Sign-ups can be found on www.signupgenius.com
Parents/Volunteers must fill out a Volunteer Application on the
Tomball Website. This must be filled out before you can volunteer.
Homework
Homework will be handed out on Monday and it is due on
Friday. Homework must be turned in complete and neat.
Homework will consist of a Language page, Reading Passage,
and Math worksheet. Each week your child will also be expected
to read for 20 minutes per night and practice their spelling
words. A leveled reader will be sent home with your child on
Monday and should be returned on Friday. I will also include a
fluency passage for your child to practice every two weeks.
Spelling
Spelling tests will be given on Friday. Students will be graded on their knowledge of the spelling words and 3 dictation sentences. Dictation sentences are not given out ahead of time. The teacher will read a sentence aloud, then the students will repeat the sentence orally 2 times before writing the sentence from their working memory.
Wednesday Folders
Wednesday: School and Home
communications will be sent home.
Red Folder: On the first day of the
week, homework will be sent home.
Send notes/lunch money with your
student. Check nightly and remove
papers. Clean out backpacks on a
regular basis Please avoid students
bringing any extra items.
Parent Conferences will be held beginning in October. Each
conference will be 15 minutes. Please sign up tonight for your
conference! I look forward to meeting with you.

If you would like to volunteer in our classroom by helping out
during small groups, please sign-up on the website under
volunteer opportunities.
ABSENCES
•Call the office if your student is absent
•If your child is absent, you must send or fax in a signed note
within 2 days for it to be excused. Doctor’s notes are also
appreciated. If your child is absent more than 5 days, a
doctor’s note is required.
•Early dismissals and tardies will count towards perfect
attendance.
•5 tardies students will have lunch in the office as a
consequence.
Transportation changes must be made in
writing or fax with your id, signed by parent,
and submitted by 3:10p.m.
• Follow-up faxes with a phone call.
• No PHONE Calls or EMAILS please.
• Parents picking up in Biker/Walker, must have
BW ID Card.
• Car lines will be double stacked, so exiting the
front parking lot after 3:15 is NOT possible.
Birthday Celebrations
Students may celebrate their birthdays at school by
providing a treat to the members of their class. This
treat must be a store made/bought item in an
individual serving. The snack item is allowed to be
served at the table by the student or parent during
the last 10 minutes of the lunch period.
•Invitations must be provided for all students or all
boys/girls.
