Children born in mid 1990s1. E-mail and cell phones have always been a part of the world2. George H.W. Bush is as distant to them as Warren G. Harding3. Have always known soda to be in plastic bottles4. Have likely never used a rotary phone or electric typewriter,
or even realize the origin of the “QWERTY” system5. Haven’t seen the cinematic treasure, The Goonies! What a
crime!6. Probably do not remember TV less than 65 channels let alone
13, 3, or black and white7. Were so young in 2001 that they likely do not remember pre
9/11 8. Have never experienced the anxiety of the Cold War nuclear
threat9. Have always known a unified Germany10. Are more likely to know the Beatles from Rock Band than
from records or even tapes and CDs
