Microchips – The Rule• 2C. A genetic typing kit and a
preprinted Registration Application will be sent to the person specified on the Live Foal Report.
• For foals born in 2017 and thereafter, a microchip will be included as well.

• 2D. For foals born in 2017 and thereafter, a microchip must be implanted in the foal and the microchip number must be reported on the Registration Application.

Microchips• 2008: Offered for sale on
registry.jockeyclub.com• 2016: Phase 1 the breeder may request a
microchip on the Live Foal Report – chip included with the foal registration kit (application, genetic sampling kit & microchip)
• 2017: Phase 2 all foal registration kits shall contain a microchip (option to receive chips early).
Breeder must certify implantation and report the chip number on the application or via registry.jockeyclub.com
