Si todos los modelos Ferrari son innovado-res por definición, en la historia delCavallino Rampante hay algunos coches quehan supuesto un punto de inflexión únicocon respecto a la gama anterior. Este es elcaso del nuevo Ferrari 458 Italia, que supo-ne un salto generacional para los modelosde 8 cilindros con motor trasero central conuna marcada inspiración deportiva de lacasa de Maranello. El nuevo modelo es unasíntesis de creatividad, estilo, pasión e inno-vación tecnológica.

El Ferrari 458 Italia es novedoso bajo todoslos puntos de vista: grupo motopropulsor,diseño, aerodinámica, manejo, instrumentale interacción entre el conductor y el vehícu-lo, por citar tan sólo algunos aspectos. Comoya es tradición en los vehículos de carreterade Ferrari, esta berlinetta biplaza es el frutode la experiencia adquirida en Fórmula 1 (elsiete veces campeón Michael Schumacherha sido determinante para el diseño de estanueva postura de conducción). El 458Italia se caracteriza además por una nuevapostura de conducción y por el nuevo diseñodel salpicadero y del volante, fruto de laexperiencia obtenida en las carreras. El dise-ño, llevado a cabo por Pininfarina, es unaprueba más de la verdadera revolución queeste nuevo vehículo supone con respecto alpasado.

Además, el Ferrari 458 Italia también repre-senta un importante paso hacia el objetivode reducción de las emisiones. Und auch hinsichtlich der ausgestossenenAbgase ist das neue Modell wegweisend. Trotzder im Vergleich zu den früherenAchtzylindermotoren erhöhten Motorleistungist der 458 Italia in der internationalenZulassungsliste ECE+EUDC zur Klasseneinteilungfür Rennwagen mit 13,7 l/100km Verbrauch reg-istriert. Der Kohlendioxid-Ausstoss beträgt 320g/km. Das entspricht den besten Werten aufdem Sportwagen-Markt.

This is the caseof the new Ferrari 458 Italia, which leaps for-ward a generation from the Maranello firm’sprevious mid-rear mounted engine sports cars.The new model is a synthesis of creativity, style,passion and cutting-edge technology.

The Ferrari 458 Italia is entirely new however youlook at it: engine, design, aerodynamics, handling,instruments and driver-vehicle interaction, toname just a few. As is traditional by now in Ferrariroad-going cars, this two-seater berlinetta benefitsfrom the experience acquired in Formula 1 (seven-times champion Michael Schumacher’s inputplayed a decisive part in the design of this newvehicle). Proof of this is the precision and immedi-acy with which the car responds to the driver’sinputs, and the specific attention centred onreducing internal friction in the engine to achievelower fuel consumption than the F430, in spite ofthe increase in cylinders and power.

Not only is the experience acquired on the race-track present in the 458 Italia in terms of tech-nological transfer; it is felt on an emotional level,thanks to the strong emphasis on creating analmost symbiotic relationship between the driv-er and the car. The 458 Italia features an innova-tive driving environment with a new kind ofsteering wheel and dashboard design that is theresult of direct racing practice. The car’sPininfarina design is further evidence of thetotal departure from the past this new car hails.

The new Ferrari 458 Italia also takes a majorleap towards cutting emissions. Despite thefact that the new engine is significantlymore powerful than the V8s that precededit, the 458 Italia is endorsed with a con-sumption of 13.7 l/100km in the ECE+EUDCcycle and produces just 320 g/km of CO2,the best in the entire market segment.
