SPAIN

Gil Berenguer Carrera This 20 year old young man is the reigning JYR European Champion and also clinched the Team Gold Medal for Spain. None of his family ride, his passion for endurance began through friends. He has ridden since 2009 and did his first endurance ride the following year. Currently he is a rider for the Spanish endurance team of Juma Punti Dachs the current European Champion. Berenguer says it is a pleasure to do

his hobby as his job and has been lucky to compete in many countries, UAE, Belgium, France, and Italy, as he is with the biggest endurance team in Spain which has many horses.

He lives in a small village called Torelló, in a Catalunya region where there are many of the best world-wide riders as well as Dachs and his wife dual world Champion Maria Alvarez, there is also another World Champion, Miquel Vila Ubach. � ��

In the Presidents Cup he rides the 11 year old bay gelding Qualif du Poncelet bred in France by Haras Du Poncelet and owned by Juma’s Team. Since he joined the team he has been trained daily by Angel and Hilari Soy and by Jaume Puntí Dachs in all the races. Juma’s Team will help him at The President’s Cup. Berenguer Carrera finished 45th in last year President’s Cup. He hopes he will continue to enjoy horses.

Mohammed T Aseef Bin Abdul Mutalib The Malaysian rider Mohammed T Aseef Bin Abdul Mutalib is 17 years old and has competed in 19 FEI endurance races since 2011. He finished 27th in last years World Equestrian Games, being the youngest rider to complete and his horse Eladina Kungfu was the youngest horse out of the 166 that competed. Abdul Mutalib will ride this 9-year-old bay mare in the Presidents Cup. She was bred in Spain and is

owned by Spaniard Sequndo Gomez Nunez.

Abdul Mutalib is now focused on the World Junior Endurance Championship in Chile later this year. All this would not have been possible without the support of his father Ismail Abdul Mutalib, who is a keen endurance rider since 2008.

HUNGARY

Patrícia Fekete This will be the second time that 21 year old Hungarian Patricia Fekete has competed at the Presidents Cup last year she finished 41st. This year she rides the 10 year old grey mare Gazal Borbála bred in Hungary by Imre Veres. Fekete has ridden the mare for about six months but this is their first competition together. The mare’s Chinese owner Gang Zhi competed on her at WEG 2014. The previous owner was

Fekete lives with her parents in GyOr, in the Northwest part of Hungary and studies pharmacy at the university. Both her parents are endurance riders and will help her at the Presidents Cup along with the owner Gang. Fekete has been riding for 15 years and endurance for 7 years she is trained by her mother and has 3 horses in training. She has competed in many parts of the World, France, Italy, Germany, Slovakia, Austria, China & UAE. Last year she finished 9th in the JYR European Championships.Her hobby is horse riding and she hopes to become a pharmacist.

NETHERLANDS

Mariijke Visser The Dutch rider Marijke Visser had a brilliant season last year winning the individual Silver Medal at the World Equestrian Games where she rode the French bred mare Laiza de Jalima owned by Sh. Abdulla Bin Faisal Bin Saqr Al Qassimi. She also finished 11th at the JYR European Championships. 2013 was also good for Visser who won the Silver medal at the JYR World Championship then finished 8th at the

Open European Championships.

This will be third consecutive year Visser has ridden in the Presidents Cup having finished 44th 2013 and 38th last year.. At the Presidents Cup she will be riding the eight year old chestnut gelding Tess Du Melay owned and bred by Frenchman Guy Dumus who is well known for producing good young horses. This will be first time Visser has competed on Tess Du Melay and the first 160km event for the gelding.

Visser started riding in 2006 and endurance in 2008, she will celebrate her 22nd birthday later this month. Her family lives in Soest 42kn south east of Amsterdam but she admits that currently she lives wherever her horses live. She usually has around 6 horses in training and when needed seeks advice from one Belgium’s leading international riders Kristel van den Abeele who will assist her at the Presi-dents Cup. Her aim is in life is to keep on improving

Maite Pradera LedoThis will be the first time that the 18 year old Spanish rider Maite Pradera Ledo wilI have competed in the UAE. It will also be the first time she has competed with the Spanish bred 9 year old Anglo Arabian Saladino bred by Miguel Ortiz and owned by Iñigo Castresana. She trains herself and has been riding Saladino for around 2 years. She will be helped by Olatz Areitio at the Presidents Cup.

Pradera Ledo live in Berriz in the Basque Country Norther Spain ,she is studying Pharmacy at the University of Vitoria-Gazteiz. Neither of her parents have are equestrians, she has ridden for ten years and competed in endurance for six years during which time she has ridden in France, Italy and Portu-gal. This young lady finished 12th and won team Gold in the 2014 JYR European Championship.She hopes to continue to enjoy life and learn.

Maria Dulcet Molina Recently 19 years old this Spanish rider Maria Dulcet Molina finished 14th in the JYR European Championship. She lives in the coastal resort of Santa Susanna Nr Barcelona in Catalonia and is studying administration and finance.

Dulcet Molina has competed in endurance for 5 years and has between 10 and 15 horses in training. She has ridden overseas in France and Italy. This will be the first time she has ridden in the UAE and will be first 160km ride for her horse Ballantine 50. This 11-year-old bay was bred in Spain by Luis Cantero he is owned by Segundo Gomez Nunez and has previously been competed by Juan Carlos Ruiz de Villa Fernández who will assist Dulcet Molina at the Presidents Cup with Francis Lozano and Mikel Etxenike. She has ridden the gelding for six months and is trained by Cantabria Endurance. Her ambitions are to finish her studies and to enjoy many more endurance races.

Paula Muntala Sancez The day after the President’s Cup Paula Muntala Sancez will celebrate her 20th birthday. She had a lot to celebrate last year when she won individual Bronze and Team Gold for Spain at the JYR European Championships. Muntala Sancez has been riding for 10 years and endurance for 5 years, she lives in Sant Pere de Torelló close to Barcelona.

Neither of her parents are Equestrians but she is trained and works for the Current European Cham-pion Juma Punti Dachs who is married to Dual World Champion Maria Alvarez Ponton. So this young lady is in a great place to fulfill her ambition to learn more about the horses and to compete in great races. In the President’s Cup she will ride Diogene de Jansavis bred in France by Mrs. Françoise Bessiere Felga and owned by Juma’s Team. This will be the first 160km ride for this 8 year old Chestnut gelding who in his only two previous FEI competitions was ridden and owned by Stephan Chazel who has dealt in endurance horses for many years and whose mother Christianne has been breeding purebred Arabians since 1974 and is a top world-renowned judge.

Muntala Sancez’s groom at the Presidents Cup will be Hilary Soy from Spain.

FRANCE

Nina Lissarrague Nina Lissarrague is a 21-year-old student in her last year at Bordeaux Univer-sity where she studies economy, law, civilization, English and Arabic. Both her sister Zoe and her father Christian, who is a musician, have done endurance. Her mother and trainer Barbara was the 2004 World Champion for France and last year riding for Switzerland she finished 4th at the World Equestrian Games wining Team Bronze.

She has 25 horses in training and her daughter will ride a new horse to join her stable in the Southwest of France in Bordeaux. Ainhoa Cathariliss.

This 10-year-old Grey mare is owned by Christine & Jean- Marc Valério and was bred at their stud farm in France, Haras D’ Ainhoa. Lissarrague has ridden this mare for the last 3 months .She started riding when she was 5 years old and did her first endurance competition in 2000.She has competed in England, Spain, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Brazil and many times in the UAE. She won individual Silver at the 2014 JYR European Championship on another horse bred & owned by Haras D’Ainhoa. At the Presidents Cup her mother and her friend Clémentine will help her.

In the future she would like to do a Master about Arabic civilization and the history of Arabic world and to continue riding and endurance.

2004 World Championship Italian Gold Medal Team and has organised Championship events in Italy for over ten years. He also competed in the 2011 Presidents Cup.Laliscia lives with her family, father Gianluca, mother Simona Zucchetta and sister Vittoria, in Perugia located in the beautiful district of Umbria the home to Italian Endurance. She is still at college and says it is very important to achieve the best results in sport and in her future working life and know that will require some sacrifices. But adds that her achievements will mean nothing if she cannot share them with her family and friends.

Laliscia has 12 horses in training and in The Presidents Cup rides the 10 years old Chestnut Arab mare Medusa Del Ma bred in Italy by Muntoni Maurizio and owned by A.D.S. Umbria Endurance Equestrian Team. Laliscia has ridden the mare for 12months and they finished 8th in last years European JYR Championship helping Italy win Team Bronze Medal. She is trained by her father and will be helped at the Presidents Cup by her mother, sister and Federico Accorroni.

ITALY

Carolina Tavassoli Asli Carolina Tavassoli Asli is 21 and engaged to be married to Angelo Paris and lives in the coastal town of Numana which is on the mid eastern Italian coast. A major FEI endurance ride is held here each year.She is a professional horse trainer although none of her family have an equestrian background.

Tavassoli Asli started to ride when she was 7 years old and started endurance in 2005. She has competed overseas in Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, United Arab Emirates, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia. She currently has 5 horses in training. Tavassoli Asli finished 4th in the 2014 JYR World Championship. She has ridden in Abu Dhabi before, in 2011 when she finished 39th in the JYR World Championship. In HH The President Cup 2015 she will ride Isteddada Saura, a12 year old Chestnut Arabian mare. This will be the first FEI 160km event for the mare who was bred in Sardinia by Manca Francesco, she is owned by Silvana Gigli who with Paris will assist her at The Presidents Cup.

BELGIUM

Raphaël Van Cauter This 20-year-old endurance rider from Belgium, Raphaël Van Cauter has just finished his second year exams towards qualifying as a veterinary. He lives most of the time in Namur in southern Belgium were he studies but his horses are in training near Chantilly in France were he go as often as possible.

The Van Cauter family, except one of his older brothers, is all involved in endurance. His brother Julien and sisters Sacha and Lily all compete. His father Bruno is an accredited FEI Endurance Veterinary and osteopath of the Dutch teams. His mother Suzanne is a trainer and along with his sister Sacha will help him at the Presidents’ Cup.

Van Cauter started to ride when he was 7 years old and endurance at 12. He has competed overseas in Holland, Germany, GB, France, Luxemburg, Spain, Italy and UAE. At the 2014 JYR European Champion-ships he finished 6th and won Team Silver for Belgium.

For all the family they have 10 horses in training and in the Presidents Cup he will ride Aicha d'Elixir previously competed by his brother Julien. This 12 year old grey mare was bred by Elevage de la Chavée, Belgium; Steffen A M and is owned by Julie Otjaque

Currently his ambitions are to be a veterinary and to participate in good endurance competitions all around the world.

BELGIUM

Romane Yernaux This is the second year 20-year-old Belgium rider Romane Yernaux is compet-ing in The Presidents Cup. She will be riding the 12year old bay gelding Sichen Des Sauvlons owned by her family and bred in Belgium by Jean Houassin his trainer. She has ridden this gelding for 6 years on whom she won Team Silver and was individually 16th at the 2014 JYR European Championship.

A student at University she lives with her family in the small village of Presles that is 50km south of Brussels. She has been riding since the age of 3 years and endurance since she was 8 years old. Yernaux has competed in England, Germany, Hungary, France, Italy, Holland, Luxembourg .She has four horses in training and her younger sister Solene also rides endurance who along with her parents and a friend will be her crew at the Presidents Cup. Her hope is to become a veterinary assistant and work with horses.

BELGIUM

Morgane Boulanger Morgane Boulanger aged 18 lives In the east of Belgium in Polleur, close to Spa, situated in a valley in the Ardennes mountain close to the German border, with Holland to the North and Luxembourg to the south.

All his family compete in Endurance His father Jacques won two times the Senior Belgium Championship in1994 and 2004 and represented Belgium at major championships in 1999, 2004 and 2005. His mother Geneviève has competed in many important rides that include Florac and his younger brother Romain has already done some nationals in Belgium. All the family will be with him at the Presidents Cup. This will be the second time he has ridden in Abu Dhabi, the first at the JYR World Championship in 2011. He finished 7th in the European JYR Championship helping Belgium win the Team Silver medal.

Morgane has been riding for 13 years and did his first national race at 12 years old and his first interna-tional two years later. He has competed overseas in France, England, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and United Arab Emirates.

He currently has 6 horses in training 4 at international standard and 2 national. In the Presidents Cup he will ride the Fanatyk de Werister owned and bred by his parents, his trainers. Boulanger has ridden this 10-year-old bay mare for 6 years. This will be the mare’s first FEI 160km event.

Morgane is at college and hopes to eventually study biology at university and have the best endurance seasons as possible.

Henriette D’ursel Recently 19 the undergraduate student Henriette D’ursel live near Marseille. She has three brothers and a sister but only her mother has done endurance. She has ridden since she was 5 years old and started competing in endurance In 2008, internationally in 2012 .She has two horses in training. Last year D’ursel rode in Slova-kia finishing 7th in the 7 year old World Championship and in Italy where she finished 5th in

the JYR European Championship riding Wloszka Fontanel the horse she rides in The Presidents Cup. D’ursel owns this 11 yr old bay mare that was bred in France by Serge Cluchier. She has been riding the mare for two years and is trained by Virginie Atger and Angel Lazes who will help her at the Presi-dents Cup along side Sebastien Mugnier and her parents. Her current aim is to finish her studies and to continue endurance competition.
