CITY OF LAFAYETTE
CITY PROPERTY MOWING SPECIFICATIONS
2014
Contract for mowing will be reviewed annually. This contract is effective when bidder receives
notice-to- proceed. This contract will be renewed automatically and continuously until written notice
of non-renewal; provided that the bid amount doesn’t increase.
In the event of breach of contract or bidders unsatisfactory work performance, the City of Lafayette or
bidding contractor shall have the right to terminate the mowing contract immediately.
Invoicing and payment for mowing shall be done weekly. Invoice for mowing to be turned in no later
than Tuesday of the following week of mowing. Payment will be available for pickup or mailed on
Fridays.

MOWING BIDS SPECIFICATIONS
CITY PARKS
Bids are to be made for one (1) time mowing and trimming per week, if weather permits. Trimming to be
done every third mowing on places not accessible by mowing. Mowing to be done on Thursday and Friday.

Key Park (highlighted area map attached), on Church St.
City Park, on Days Rd.
City Cemetery, both sides of Jones St.
Around Sullivan Pond, on Ellington Dr.
Around City Hall and also around metal buildings at 201 East Locust St.
Around the police department building at 118 East Locust St.
No chemical spraying of grass or weeds in the ditches.
Park and Street Departments Supervisor will supervise all mowing.
Must mow the location to get paid for it.

UTILITY DEPARTMENT
WATER TREATMENT PLANT – Located at 192 Spring Creek Road. Mow and trim one (1) time
per week, when weather permits. Mow, starting at water plant, an estimated four hundred (400) feet
South, from fence to asphalt, and five (5) feet on inside fence; then an estimated two hundred (200) feet
East, five (5) feet inside fence. Bidder should visit this site with Phillip Brawner for site mowing
instructions.

Mow and trim around pumping station every week if weather permits. Location Bid

MOWING BIDS SPECIFICATIONS
AIRPORT GROUNDS
Bids are to be made for one (1) mowing and trimming per week, if weather permits. The following are
the areas to be mowed around the Lafayette Municipal Airport, but are not all-inclusive. A map of the
general area highlighted is attached. The bidder should visit the site with Barron Smith.
Along access road, mow to fence, where fence is out to Old Highway 52, where a fence is
not in place, mow at the same width as is a fence had been in place.
Mow twenty-five (25) feet from the edge of runway.
Mow 15 feet circumference around the vasis and reils.
Mow 80 feet circumference around windsock and segmented circle.
Trim around runway lights.
Ramp area and around main hanger, mow from these two areas to ditch line.
Mow fuel tank area and around new tee hangers to top of slope, also taxi way to ramp.
At end of runway mow space between Hwy 52 By Pass and fence; to continue two hundred
(200) feet on both sides of fence, four to five feet wide.

Mow side slopes on North end of runway. This area is approximately twenty-two hundred
(2,200) feet in length and sixty-five (65) to eighty (80) feet wide. (Are to be mowed every two
weeks are marked in red on map).

NOTICE TO VENDORS
Sealed proposals including vendor name and address, on the outside envelope, will be received by
the City of Lafayette, at the office of the City of Lafayette Recorder’s Office, 200 East Locust St.,
Lafayette, TN 37083, the hour 2:00 p.m., on the 3rd
, day of March, 2014 at which time proposals
duly delivered and submitted and will be opened at that time.
Until the final award by the City of Lafayette, said city reserves the right to reject any and/or all
proposals, to waive technicalities, to re-advertise, to proceed otherwise when the best interests of the
City will be realized hereby. Proposals will be submitted sealed and plainly marked with the date and
time of receipt.
Must have Workman’s Compensation Insurance prior to any mowing done on city property.
Must have $1,000,000 of Liability Insurance coverage prior to any mowing done on city
property.
Must list the City of Lafayette as an additional insured on insurance policy.
