By June 2011, the number of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Special Education students at or above the proficient level on the Math MSA will increase from 59.2 % to 75%

The data suggests that the MSA math scores are trending in a positive direction.
Over the past 2 years… Students scoring advanced increased
from 30.5 to 42.3% Students scoring basic decreased from
17.7 to 13.0%

Veterans MSA scores greatly exceed the MSDE AYP standards as well at the Howard County Standard
Veterans Elementary school showed continued growth from last year from 82.3% to 87% scoring proficient and advanced

Veterans Elementary stacks up when looking at the overall MSA math scores and comparing them to other Howard County Schools and Maryland State school
BUT THERE IS STILL WORK TO BE DONE…
When we drill down the data, we can see that the subgroups of African American (23.9%), FARM (21.1%), and especially Special Education (40.7%) scored basic
