WELCOME!Welcome to the 3rd Annual Small Cells Global Congress, co-located with

the inaugural Cellular Backhaul Summit. These events have been combined

to maximise your time out of the office, giving you the chance to assess the

growing revenue generating opportunities of Small Cells as well as staying up

to date on the latest developments in Small Cell Backhaul and how these will fit

into a wider cellular backhaul strategy.

With a packed agenda over two days, delegates have access to both conference programmes, which

each include an Afternoon Focus Session on to key challenge of Small Cell Backhaul.

SMALL CELLS GLOBAL CONGRESS:With operators moving from trials to deployment and small cells no longer just being about in home

but about outdoor, urban and enterprise solutions, the small cell landscape is changing fast. Bringing

together 15 international small cell deployment case studies, the third annual Small Cells Global

Congress will cover the full range of small cell innovation from off load strategies to transport and

retail deployments; integration with Wi-Fi, LTE and LTE-A and inclusion in Het Net, DAS and multi

RAN planning.

SMALL CELL BACKHAUL: As small cell deployments increase backhaul is becoming a major challenge, especially as small cells

are typically harder to reach and costs need to be lower. These two, in depth, afternoon sessions will

give you the tools to assess the optimum small cell backhaul solution for different network scenarios

taking into account capacity, coverage and cost as well as considering how they will fit into the wider

cellular backhaul strategy.

CELLULAR BACKHAUL SUMMIT:Telcos are under pressure to overhaul backhaul networks but it is not just a matter of adding capacity;

you also need to ensure long term flexibility and performance, all with minimal increase in Opex and

Capex. The Cellular Backhaul Summit brings together 15 of your operator peers, as well as leading

industry experts and solution providers to share their experiences, so you can determine the level of

investment that you need to make now to future proof backhaul for the long term.

With over 50 speakers and 30 operator case studies from Asia, North & South America and Europe

these two co-located events enable you to maximise your time out of the office, returning with the

latest knowledge and experience to ensure a cost efficient, future proofed network.

5 - 6 November Maritim proArte Hotel, Berlin, Germany

PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP: MONDAY 4 NOVEMBER 2013

SMALL CELLS, WIFI AND PACKET CORE: ARCHITECTURE AND INTEGRATIONSmall Cells and WiFi are gaining wider adoption with the aim to improve coverage, increase network capacity and offload macro cell traffic. The technical standards are moving fast to develop new features and integrate Small Cells and WiFi in the evolved packet core (EPC) with minimum possible complexity. This workshop aims to look at some of these new features developed or under-development by 3GPP in the Release 11 and 12 as well as the developments in the WiFi standards.

The workshop will be led by Dr. Triantafyllos Kanakis (Aldo), technical trainer with eXplanoTech. This workshop is a part of a broader training course offered and conducted over a couple of days. A basic understanding of Small Cells and their operation would be required for the attendance of this session.

eXplanoTech provides training, consultancy and managed services in technology space with special focus on wireless (4G/LTE, 3G and GSM/GPRS).

SMALL CELLS AND HETEROGENEOUS NETWORKS FOR LTE AND LTE ADVANCED7 – 8 NOVEMBER 2013, BERLIN (€1,475 + VAT)Demand for higher capacity networks have driven the adoption of high bandwidth systems like LTE, however high bandwidth systems don’t fully address the increasing demand for data capacity in mobile cellular networks, Next generation networks will rely on high density clusters of small cells to yield capacity.

This 2 day course will describe the concepts behind small cell systems and detail the technology and challenges of deploying small cell networks. LTE advanced includes femto, relay and WiFi offload techniques to boost local capacity, however managing the backhaul, mobility and interference of such systems are complex tasks that will be covered in this course.

This course is an essential primer for any operator, engineer or planner that needs to fully understand the nature of small cells, the capacity increase possible with such systems and the many challenges of Hetnet deployment
