• Figure depicts the movable windlass with A-frame for chain handling.
• The windlass can be equipped with hydraulic or electric drive – in this case electric.
• Speeds are project specific. Typical speed = 2 - 4 m/min.
• The chain rests on separate fairlead chain stoppers when passively moored.
• Passive load measurement takes place in the fairlead chain stoppers.
• Approximate tension can be read via motor torque readings during pay in/out.

1. The chain is lifted clear of gypsy wheel after tensioning is finished.
2. Winch unit is skidded away from actual mooring line.
3. Mooring chain is lowered below winch foundation level.
4. Winch unit is then skidded back and lifts the A-frame before skidding together to the next mooring line.
