Good luck to all the students competing at the Hornsby Zone PSSA Swimming Carnival next Thursday at Hornsby Aquatic Centre.
These students were selected from our recent Swimming Carnival. Thank you to Mrs Todd and Mrs Els for accompanying the
children to the carnival and hope it is a successful day for all.
Year 6 Leadership Camp – Gibberarong
On Thursday and Friday last week our Year 6 leaders attended their Leadership Camp at Gibberagong Environment Education Centre.
The children participated in many activities to develop their leadership skills that required team work, communication, cooperation
and decision making. Fun was had and friendships were made. Thank you to Mrs Slade and Mrs Thwaites for both attending and
supporting the children, it’s greatly appreciated.
Stage 2 Camp – Milson Island
Stage 2 attended their annual 2 day camp last week to Milson Island Sport and Recreation Centre on the Hawkesbury River. The
children were kept busy with the many activities provided that challenged them personally by taking them out of their comfort zone.
Thank you to Mr Byrne and Miss Cameron for attending and encouraging our children to always do their best and have a go.
Parent Teacher Interviews
Parent Teacher Interviews will take place in Week 10 and 11 of this term. Parents and carers will be asked again to book their

Clean Up Australia Day
It’s that time of year again, the annual Clean Up Australia Day, Sunday 4th March. On Friday 2nd March schools across the nation will
be getting involved in Clean up School Day. Last year over 2000 schools participated in Clean Up Australia Day events. It is teaching
our students the responsible way to dispose of rubbish and the repercussions of rubbish being dumped irresponsibly on our local
environment. Please make sure the children bring along their gloves.
Year 6 Parent and Carers Meeting Wednesday 7th March
On Wednesday 7th March at 6pm I would encourage Year 6 parents and carers to attend a meeting to discuss the organisation and
legalities of the future of Year 6 activities. Throughout the year there are many activities organised to support the Year 6 , either by
fundraising for Year 6 gift, Year 6 farewell and Year 6 mementos, to mention a few. It has been brought to my attention that the
Department of Education has many requirements that the school must adhere to and this would along with my full support, require
a committee of parent volunteers. They would liaise with school and assist in ensuring these activities continue being successful.
This would only be a brief meeting held in the library, so please come along and support your children.
NAPLAN
This year our school has been selected to participate in a practice NAPLAN online screening. It will involve Years 3 and 5 from
Tuesday 20th March till Thursday 22nd March. This practice is in preparation for the actual NAPLAN in Term 2 which will be online
this year for our school, except for the Year 3 Writing assessment. More information will follow closer to the actual online NAPLAN
assessments. The online NAPLAN is adaptive to the student’s responses to ensure that it provides a clearer indication of the
student’s abilities.

You might ask who is a Protestant
‘Protestantism is a broad definition used to describe the branch of Christianity that holds to
the principles of the Reformation – that is, those Christians who rejected the doctrinal
stance of the Catholic Church in the 1500’s.
It includes Anglican, Baptist, Church of Christ, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, and Seventh Day
