    Our Salient Functions

    1. Administration of urban infrastructure and governance component ofJawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, Scheme for Development

    of Infrastructure in Satellite Towns of major mega cities, North Eastern RegionUrban Development Programme, Metro rail etc. for creation of basic urbaninfrastructure

    2. Facilitating implementation of urban sector reforms at State and urban localbody levels through various schemes and policy initiatives

    3. Preparation of plans for development of National Capital Region (NCR) andcoordinating and monitoring its implementation

    4. Facilitating access to institutional finance for urban infrastructure in Statesin the NCR through the National Capital Region Planning Board(NCRPB)

    Our Commitment to Citizens with Grievances

    A Public Grievance Redressal Cell (PG Cell) has been established in the

    Ministry with a view to delivering responsive and expeditious redressal of

    grievances received from the citizens. The Cell functions under the charge of

    Economic Adviser, a Joint Secretary level officer, who is designated as the

    Director of Grievances for Ministry of Urban Development and the attached

    and Sub-ordinate Offices, Public Sector Undertakings and Autonomous

    bodies.

    The Ministry operates a dedicated E mail address for receipt of public

    grievance petitions through E mail at [email protected] .
