The Toyota Land Cruiser is a popular series of four-wheel drive vehicles produced by the Japanese

carmaker Toyota Motor Corporation. The Land Cruiser, along with the Hilux utility, has been used

in the world’s most grueling terrains and climates. The Design of the Land Cruiser began in 1951

as a Toyota Jeep-like vehicle and production began in 1954. The Land Cruiser has been produced

in many different versions such as the convertible, hardtop,

station wagon and utility. In many places, the term Land Cruiser

has even become a generic term for an off-road vehicle.

Coming to the point, we all dream of owning fancy and flashy

cars, but for Stewart, a South Africa based In Tanzania, he likes

doing things his own way. With a passion for restorations, he has

proudly and passionately built a one of a kind

Toyota Landcruiser FJ45, all from scratch. Built on a Landcruiser

hardtop chassis, this 1982 Land Cruiser took a busy 4 months to

build at a cost of $15,000. Totally Worth it for a head turning

project In the words of Stewart, ‘We wanted a classic car that is

part of history that is why we chose to build this

1982 Toyota Landcruiser FJ45’.

BACK IN TIMEBACK IN TIME1982 TOYOTALANDCRUISER FJ45

ENGINEA lot of the classic touch has been left in the car. A Straight 6, 4.2L engine with a weeber

carburetor and a BMC performance Air filter. The engine and gearbox is completely overhauled.

INTERIORThe Dash board, Centre panel, Steering wheel and gear knobs are still the original self.

The roof top has been cut and made into a convertible. It is covered with a tarpaulin cloth.

EXTERIORThe car is built on a landcruiser hardtop chassis. The head is from the 1982 FJ45 and the body is

custom made. The truck has been given a eye catching, shiny yellow paint job with its chassis

painted black. Definitely very hard to miss! The back bit is rubberized, a service provided by

Stewart’s very own company, Nyati Linings. If you are now asking yourself, how do I get hold of

this one of a kind, classic beauty? Well look no further, this baby is up for grabs. The price for owning

a one of a kind semi sport, semi classic pickup truck? $15,000. With such a passion for restoration

and a keen interest in classics, what next for Stewart? As we speak, he is currently working on

restoring a 1962 BMW motorcycle to showroom condition. Hard to believe, yes but he has us

convinced it will be ready by October. The company Nyati linings was originally established in 2006.

Manchester United have revealed a bumper seven-yearshirt sponsorship deal with car firm Chevrolet that isworth around £25million per season. The link-up which will see the American company's name on thefront of United's jerseys from the 2014-15 season - willboost the coffers at Old Trafford. There are fears overthe club's long-term stability with the mounting debtsunder the Glazers, who are considering floating on theNew York Stock Exchange.

Chevrolet will be the club's fifth shirt sponsor in historyand the deal is worth well over the £20m per seasonAon are currently paying. United’s commercial directorRichard Arnold said: 'This is a fantastic, long-term dealfor the club. 'We have been partners with Chevrolet foronly six weeks, but already they have produced somefantastic ideas that will benefit both the partnershipand our 659 million followers around the world. 'They are a key partner on our current tour and I knowthey have enjoyed experiencing the buzz generated byour fanatical support and the sell-out crowds inSouth Africa, China, and Europe.

Europe's biggest carmaker Volkswagen has wrapped up its takeover of Germansports car group Porsche two years earlier than planned in a move they saidwould strengthen both firms. In a deal announced last month, the twocompanies - which had been seeking to merge since 2009 - agreed to moveup the integration of their businesses to to create economies of scale in anincreasingly tough global market.

"The path is now finally clear for a bright future together, "Even closercooperation will enable us to significantly strengthen Volkswagen and Porsche,and further expand the group's product portfolio with fascinating new vehicles" VW chief executive Martin Winterkorn said in a statement.

Under the agreement, which they said would unlock 320 million euros in netsynergies, VW paid Porsche's current holding company Porsche SE4.5 billion euros plus one VW share for the 50.1 per cent it did not alreadyown in the sports car maker. VW initially acquired 49.9 per cent in Porsche in2009 in the first stage of a complex takeover agreement, the completion ofwhich then ran into a number of legal and tax hurdles. The new mergerstructure will also have the advantage of averting massive tax payments for VW.

Prior to VW's takeover of Porsche, the sports car maker had itself tried, butfailed, to swallow the much larger VW, running up more than 10 billion eurosof debt in the process.

VW's brands currently include Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, SEAT, Bentley, Bugattiand Scania and MAN trucks.
