We live in a busy world, fi lled with challenge and complexity. Sometimes it’s overwhelming. We know that we need to take time to plan, strategise, connect and align, yet this can feel like a frustrating delay that only puts further pressure on fi nite resources.

At Empanda we have listened carefully to what business leaders have said they need to support the journeys they are leading. We have used these insights to design light, energising, fun opportunities that are purposeful and highly effective across a full suite of leadership needs.

Our core offering is a series of motivational journeys delivering outcomes across four domains, each central to the role that leaders play:

Our journeys are presented in our Empanda Inspiration Centre, a venue that is designed purposefully to be the perfect space for meaningful connection. We also have a virtual collaboration platform that enables online interactive experiences and learning (calibrated to each client’s specifi c needs), in order to to reach bigger communities, anywhere, and any time.

We also have drawn together a powerful network of coaches, change managers, storytellers and learning facilitators who deliver both our journeys and who produce the animated stories and eLearning products needed to support our journeys.

Surrounded by almond orchards and pecan trees, with panoramic views of the mountains, our centre is a warm and welcoming space where you can gather to connect. Enjoy our harmonious blend of high quality interiors, state of the art facilities, and natural outdoor spaces. Our centre has a tranquil and gentle energy that engenders the ultimate frame of mind for collaboration and creativity. Settle into our elegant surroundings and explore, learn, share ideas, strategise and plan your future innovation. Every visit to Empanda is a unique experience.

Our Inspiration Centre lends itself to both indoor and outdoor experiences. We have a central free fl owing space that connects to an expansive terrace that is perfect for networking. Frameless glass windows create a seamless connection with outdoor spaces. “Speakers Corner” is our main plenary space, suitable for a gathering of up to 40 people, and we have three meeting rooms that each seat up to 10 people. Rooms are all equipped with glassboards andscreens. The space lends itself to team building, training, networking events, governance meetings and thought leadership gatherings. The main area has a show kitchen and there are braai facilities and picnic spaces outside.

We are able to provide quality, healthy catering, or you may wish to bring in your own team and chef to leverage the fully equipped kitchen.

We have created a space that is designed to hold and inspire creative thinking and authentic engagement, away from the bustle of the corporate world

Empanda is a member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. It calls on companies to align to universal principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. It’s purpose is to take action to advance societal interests. We are honoured to do work for the UNGC in New York where we support the online Academy with eLearning and video animation. We are also partners with the Global Compact Network of South Africa, having produced the private sector contribution to the recent South African Voluntary National Review of action to deliver the 2030 Agenda.

We are actively involved in facilitating a Sustainable Development Goal Accelerator kit, designed to make it easier for South African companies to align action to drive sustainability with national development priorities and internal work to deliver B-BBEE compliance in an authentic way that maximises the transformational action that stakeholders want. If you are interested in partnering with us on this initiative we would love to hear from you. We want to support the creation of a platform where companies can easily share resources, including access to the initiatives they are funding to deliver transformation for each of the goals.

Empanda has taken a deep interest in action to combat corruption. Our Shining Panda interns recently published motivational videos through our storytelling process as a call to action for South Africa. These video stories were launched at the Daily Maverick Business Against Corruption event.

One of the core objectives of our motivational Empanda journeys is to build proactive resilience against corruption into organisational culture, future proofi ng our organisations. We are passionate about effective governance and are proactive members of the IoDSA.

ACTION TO COMBATCORRUPTION

Empanda was formed in 2014, working in the digital transformation space. Big technical transformation programmes are hard places to empower people, and to this day we place talented consulting specialists with our clients to support innovation projects. As part of our mission to help our clients evolve we noticed patterns and repeated challenges and became curious about what we could do to help.

We realised that external consultants can only go so far to enable and deliver strategic transformation. Without internal leadership and capacitated teams the seeds of change land on hard ground. We began to wonder what Empanda could do to help our clients build internal capabilities to lead innovation and to empower teams. This has lead to the development of our leadership experience, the OASIS Journey, a fl ag ship that is now delivering signifi cant results for our clients.

Empanda is the Roman goddess of asylum, charity, and hospitality. Her temple distributed food to those in need. Her name means “to open”. Originally a goddess of the countryside, Empanda is essentially a welcoming inspiration. For us, she represents the spirit of friendship, trust, and sharing. She is a muse for our desire to bring people together to share knowledge, to open ourselves to our creativity, and to collaborate on innovation. Empanda is dedicated to supporting engagement, enablement and evolution of journeys toward a sustainable, inclusive and beautiful future world.

Our leadership avatar is based on a dragonfl y. We love it’s shimmering and agile beauty. Able to move quickly in any direction. Remember that the dragonfl y is born under pressure, a simple and unevolved creature that transforms and evolves into its future form.

Our OASIS leaders then gave us further insights. When focusing on empowering people, rather than executing tasks, a signifi cant appetite emerged for ways to engage and evolve teams. We listened to these needs, and designed our Empanda Journeys. This range of one day experiences is designed for business leaders to make leadership focus easy, purposeful and fun.

Our journeys are all created to lift, excite and motivate people, refreshing us and building our feeling of play, purpose and potential. The Journeys are delivered from our Inspiration Centre, a special space out of the offi ce where we can breathe, connect, and collaborate. We seek to delight you with the infi nite possibilities.
